The puppies in what could be Sibeal's final litter have now left for their lovely new homes. It was a repeat mating which produced Sibéal's autumn 2020 litter by the lovely Eccles (Alibren Eccles at Tannadice), owned by John & Brenda Taylor. It was a small litter, but once again, we were thrilled with the way the puppies turned out. I first met Eccles when I judged him as a young puppy at an Open dog show in May 2019; he is a very happy, friendly boy with a lovely gentle and calm nature.

Sibéal is our 6th generation direct line – at the time, we also had living with us at Overdene her mother Rúadhnait, younger ½ sister Dearbhaile, cousin Iris (whose father Rufus is Rúadhnait's litter brother), Iris's lastborn daughter, Ríona (also an Eccles daughter), and another lovely, older bitch, Esme, whom I rehomed in 2016 when her owner was seriously ill and unable to keep her. Sibéal is very clever, loving and resourceful; had time permitted and opportunity presented itself, Sibéal would probably have been a good worker like her litter sister Marie, great uncles Breacán and Scrumpy, and great grandfather Lancer – the latter two both being "guns choice" for many years on their respective shoots. Sibéal has also always proved to be a careful and attentive mother.

More information about Sibéal could be found on her page; she has a hip score of 4:4 and a clear eye certificate under the KC/BVA scheme (date of last examination July 2021) – see results of health tests above. Eccles also has a clear eye certificate under the KC/BVA scheme (last examined October 2021), a hip score of 5:6 and an elbow grade of 0:0; he is also clear by inheritance for ICT-A. Sibéal and Eccles are both "clear by inheritance" for GR_PRA 1 & 2, which means that their puppies are also "clear by inheritance" for both conditions.

Our puppies are always raised in the house with access to their own safe area of the garden (weather permitting) from about 4½ weeks of age, and they could be able to be seen with the older generations of Overdenes (and others) currently under our roof as outlined above. We do not usually allow visitors until the puppies are at least 5 weeks old.

Further information about Overdene Golden Retrievers can be found on our main page, including the fact that our puppies have their KC registrations endorsed "R" (progeny not eligible for registration) and "X" (not eligible for the issue of an export pedigree) – we never send puppies to homes overseas, even if we already know the enquirers.

Ideally, we always look for new homes with previous experience of Golden Retrievers, and we ask those interested in our litters to contact us via the UK Champdogs "Contact Breeder" icon, giving brief details of their family circumstances, work commitments, other pets, etc, and whether they were interested in a boy or a girl. Although we acknowledge all messages received, it is from this initial contact that we ask for further information if we may be able to help in due course. We never make any apologies for being "picky" – it's a responsible breeder's job to make sure their precious puppies go to the best possible homes where they will be loved and valued for the whole of their lives.
