Rúadhnait's final litter of just 3 girls and 2 boys arrived safely in the early hours of Saturday, 29 June 2019 - something we had been hoping to be able to announce for over a year now. With the exception of Dearbhaile who has stayed at Overdene, the other 4 puppies are now settling well into their new lives.

Rúadhnait is our 5th generation direct line, with two generations of Overdenes currently living under our roof (great great granny Kyriaki died in September 2013 aged 16+), along with other relatives. Rúadhnait is a clever, happy and very loving bitch, and previously she has proved to be an excellent mother. She was lightly shown as a youngster, with modest success, although showing has never been a priority for us. We have had excellent reports of all the puppies from her two previous litters, including one who is doing very well with her gundog work, and another who participates in obedience competitions.

The puppies' father is Mrs Debbie Fenn's Willsbrook the Hairy Biker at Jandeburn ShCM, known to his friends as Crosby. He is a sweet-natured, mid-gold Golden Retriever from lines rarely found these days; he has sired some lovely litters over the past few years, which is why we are hoping for a bitch puppy to help continue our direct bitch line.

More information about Rúadhnait could be found on her own page; she has a hip score of 5:5 and clear eye certificate under the KC/BVA scheme (date of last examination October 2018) - see results of health tests above. Crosby also has a clear eye certificate under the KC/BVA scheme (last examined in July 2018), a hip score of 3:4, and elbows graded 0:0. Both Rúadhnait and Crosby have been DNA tested clear for GR_PRA 1 & 2, which means that their puppies were "clear by inheritance" for both GR_PRA conditions.

As always, the puppies were raised in the house, with access to the garden (weather permitting) from about 4½ weeks and they could be seen with several generations of Overdenes currently under our roof, in particular their big sister Sibéal, great auntie Niamh, and their mum, of course! We also have auntie Iris, bred by my sister in 2014; Iris's father is Rúadhnait's litter brother Rufus. Cousin Esme and her daughter Cora complete our current Golden family (although Cora has now gone to keep her 1/2 brother Bailey company in his home on the Isle of Wight).
