Meet Sibéal (pronounced "shib-ale" and coming from the old Irish Isobel - Sibby to her friends), one of Rúadhnait's daughters from her first litter, born 16 September 2015. She was one of the darkest (if not the darkest) puppies in the litter, and she caught my eye from the time she was just 2 or 3 days old. I hadn't planned on keeping a puppy from Rúadhnait's first litter, but as time went by (and having been given 6 lovely bitch puppies), I just couldn't let her go!

Sibéal's hips were X-rayed at the end of November 2016, and we are thrilled with her score of 4:4 (total of 8). Her eyes were last examined and pronounced "unaffected" on 23 August 2022, including a 0 grade for gonioscopy - and as is the case with all Overdene bitches, she has been DNA profiled. Although at the time Sibéal's hips were X-rayed and scored there was no requirement for elbows to be X-rayed and graded, we took her for this when our youngster went in August 2022. Sibéal's elbow grade came back at 1:1 (total of 1) which the vet explained wasn't unreasonable due to her age, and this being done 5 years later than most dogs/bitches go through this process. To the best of our knowledge, none of Sibéal's puppies (or either of her parents) has ever had any problems!

Sibéal gave us her 1st litter in early 2018, her 2nd litter in autumn 2020, and her 3rd litter in early 2022. Hoping for a nice bitch puppy from Sibéal for our 7th generation direct bitch line, we tried on what would be her last chance, and she didn't disappoint, giving us just one bitch puppy in her final litter - the puppy arrived a week later than expected; Sibéal really did keep us guessing!

Although only shown once as a puppy many years ago, like most Overdenes, Sibéal started making the occasional appearance in Veteran classes from early 2025. With her rich gold colour (accompanied now with some old age grey), what she lacks in current or fashionable show looks, she makes up for with her conformation and movement; as with her mother before her, we would like one Crufts qualifying place before she hangs up her show lead for good.
