At Overdene we were very sad to learn of the passing of Overdene Terpsichore - Cora to her friends (named after the Greek goddess of dance and chorus to fit in with her mother Esme's "Boogie" name) on Monday, 13 May 2024 at the young age of just 6½ years. Cora was one of 2 bitches in her mother Esme's final litter of 4 born on Wednesday, 20 September 2017. The third puppy to arrive, Cora was initially the one chosen to stay with us at Overdene.

As a puppy Cora used to come to the office with me and was always much admired (and I think loved) by my colleagues and others. She was top of her initial puppy class, which stood her in very good stead for behaving well in the office and when out and about - but at home with us, she was always a holy terror!

Cora started her "show career" on Good Friday in March 2018 and placed 4th in the Puppy class that day. She was so naughty! Past experience has shown that our naughtiest puppies usually turn into the happiest show girls when they are fully grown, so we decided to give her time to grow up before trying again.

But in August 2019 Cora went to live permanently on the Isle of Wight with Bailey, her 1/2 brother by another mother (Rúadhnait). She settled in very well, very quickly, and we were very pleased that lovely Cora finally found a home where she could get the additional attention and exercise she really needed. Right from the day she arrived there, she had a wonderful life, and her passing, less than 4 months after her mother Esme and father Bruster died within a week of each other in January (aged 14 and 15 respectively) has left a huge gap for her brother Bailey and her owners. Rest in Peace, Cora - we are so glad that you found your place in life on the Isle of Wight!
