We are very sorry to report that Rufus died peacefully in his sleep, at home, on Wednesday, 7 August 2024.

Rufus was the 6th puppy to arrive in his mother Grian's only litter born in May 2012. He grew up into an handsome young man with a beautiful temperament. He was a credit to his family, and we are proud to have bred him at Overdene.

Rufus became a father at the end of June 2014, giving Dirnanean Laughing Gravy for Kindrogan a lovely litter, and one of his daughters from that litter, Iris (Dirnanean Raynebow over Overdene) came to live at Overdene on 17 August 2014. The mating was repeated two years later - another another beautiful litter from which Rufus's daughter Winnie (Dirnanean Sister Winifred at Kindrogan) stayed with my sister, and she is now behind the Kindrogan Golden Retrievers.

Rest in peace, lovely Rufus - Overdene will never forget you, and we are grateful for your legacy to Overdene, Dirnanean and Kindrogan.
