We are very sad to announce Noah's untimely death on Thursday, 19 April 2012 after a short illness. For my Overdene girls, he was "the boy next door" from the time we moved to our current home in August 2005. Noah was well-known in the village, and much loved by all who knew him. Everyone with whom he came into contact on his walks stopped to make a fuss of him; he was particularly fond of, and loved by children, all other dogs, and for a long time, one of his best female friends was his older sister, Aoife (Overdene Piganoussa), who was always trying to slip through the gate into the next door garden.

Noah was the 3rd puppy born in his mother Kyriaki's final litter of nine by Mesdames Williams & Gough's Wilgem Star Designer, and he was the dog puppy with whom I just couldn't part - despite the fact that I was already keeping his sister Gráinne (Overdene Tiganakia), and was about to move house. In fact, it was probably the prospect of a bigger home and garden that was instrumental in trying to hold on to him, and the possibility of showing a dog puppy for the first time was also appealing.

Fortunately Noah and Gráinne were very laid-back and easy puppies to have around, and like Gráinne, we had hopes that he might have a happy and successful show career. But in the end, when our new next door neighbours fell in love with Noah, I knew it would be best for him to live with them - and he had an excellent home in which he enjoyed the life of Riley until the time came to say "goodbye".

We could not have given or found Noah a better home. He was a wonderful ambassador for the breed as a whole, and for the Overdenes in particular. It was a privilege to have bred and known him, and we will all miss him.
