My Pocket Rocket, sometimes a puppy comes along that just gets under your skin ....
Born before I lost her great granny Champion Pepper, but she is a Pepper clone, so much so that I find myself calling her Pepper quite often!
From Rex and Sparkle's first litter, so pleased with all of the puppies I had to repeat the mating two more times, but there was something about Rocket from the very start, even though I wanted a darker girl and she was the only paler one.
Like her great granny before her, she makes my heart soar every time I look at her, I had been sooo looking forward to showing her, then just before her 6 month birthday the country went into lockdown ....
Following that I was diagnosed with cancer and through three major surgeries and two rounds of chemotherapy, Rocket gave me my main reason to fight.
Having just finished my second round of chemotherapy, Rocket made her show ring debut at 21 months and qualified for Crufts 2022. We had a couple of months in the show ring and several Championship Show firsts, confirming to me that in normal times she would have easily achieved her Junior Warrant.
Sadly I was grounded again with medical issues from September 2021 to June 2022, Rocket missed Crufts even though she looked glorious.
On our short return to the show ring, she won two Championship Show Post Graduate classes and kept me hopeful that she would follow in great granny Pepper's paw steps.
Sadly another two major surgeries has meant Rocket will only return to the show ring fir a short period in 2024 before having yet another long spell away.
She is indeed a very special girl, fun loving, energetic, kind and loving. She is my main sofa companion in the evenings and my heart is still soaring every time I look at her. I often call her Pepper without thinking, as they are so similar.
My friends love her too, she is always picked out by visitors who can also see she is something special, love her, love her, love her xx
Rocket has exemplary health test results, eyes clear including Gonioscopy grade 0, hips 5-4, elbows 0, heart tested clear, GPRA 1&2 Hereditary Clear, but as an Icthyosis carrier will only be mated to a clear dogs.
