Timber was a happy and biddable boy, very obedient, always had something in his mouth and was carrying Pheasants at 6 months old. He was so very soundly made, stood four square, moved happily and was always wagging his tail.

KC named in honour of his late great great granny Race (Tenfield Rambling Runaway Res CC, CAC, CK), he did her proud.

Timber made his show ring debut age 6 months on and was second in the Golden Retriever Minor Puppy Dog class, then won the Puppy Dog class, collecting a Junior Warrant point. Under the gundog group judge he then won a large AV Gundog Puppy class and his first Best Any Variety Gundog Puppy rosette - a wonderful start.

Timber then went to live in sunny Jersey with Sandra and David Bouchere and their Goldens and Border Collie when he was 8 months old. They were over the moon with him, though of course I was sad to see him go. Sandra always said what a fantastic temperament he had, very affectionate like all of our Goldens. At his first show in Jersey, the island's Championship Show, at just over 12 months old, Timber won BEST OF BREED beating some very mature adults. He also won BEST OF BREED and GUNDOG GROUP 4 at the Jersey Members Open Show in January 2007. I was delighted for his new owners and very proud of Timber. Not only a handsome boy, at the Jersey Dog Club's obedience show in July 2006 he lost just half a mark in his first competition and was awarded full marks in his second round.

Over the years, Timber was Best of Breed at nearly every show on the island and continued to win his way through the obedience classes. He had clear eyes and good hips/elbows, but like so many good dogs, never had the opportunity to pass his clever and good looking genes on.

At just over 10 years old, sadly Timber had to have a front leg amputated, but that didn't stop him leading a fabulous life with daily walks and swims on the beautiful Jersey beaches.
He was joined by another Tenfield boy Finley in 2016 and trained him well,
Timber was given sleep after a short illness at the great age of 14 years and is sorely missed.
