***** After another very long break from the show ring, Dash wins Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show at the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland Open Show October 2018. *****

Dashy doo dah, my surprise package from the litter that was never meant to be ....
What a special girl Dash is, so very much like her granny Teal to whom I owe so much, with the same sense of fun, Dash meets and greets everyone with a play bow and wild waggy tail. Such a sweet girl with a melting expression, she is a true Golden in a small and compact package, being 20 inches, just half an inch taller than her granny Teal.
I was blown away by her early show ring successes, qualified for Crufts at six months old and consistently in the cards at Championship Shows. At her first Open Show she won Best Puppy age only 6 months and 10 days, much to my surprise and then went on to win the Gundog Puppy Group with 18 puppies present, she couldn't have had a better start. At only her second Open Show, she won Best Puppy again even though she was the youngest there and I was surprised when she was also awarded Reserve Best of Breed. The judge must have known her onions though, as Dash then won the Gundog Puppy Group again and was then awarded Best Puppy in Show, at a show where Tor (Tenfield Border Rambler JW) had won the same award 16 years earlier.
She won Best Puppy in Show at the Southern Golden Retriever Society Open Show age only 8 months, and ended her puppy career with 9 Best Puppy awards at Open Shows, with 3 Gundog Puppy Group wins. I am so happy that so many others have liked her as much as I do.
Dash was only one of four stunning bitches in this litter, two others of whom are also in show homes, though sadly not shown as much as I would have liked. Dash was kept primarily to continue the Tenfield bitch line, as I allowed others to have the pick, my main criteria was to keep something golden with a nice head and expression! So to have such an amazing start has been just wonderful for Dash and for me.
Dash gained her Junior Warrant at just over 12 months old, winning four classes at the Southern Golden Retriever Society Championship Show. So very proud of Doo Dah, her mum's third Junior Warrant winner and my ninth. Having achieved her Junior Warrant, Dash then spent several months at home growing her new coat. She attended just two Championship Shows at the end of 2015 winning 2nd in a strong Yearling class at Berkshire Downs & Chilterns GRC.
Dash followed in her mum Pepper's and half brother Chieftan's paw-steps by qualifying for the Kennel Club's Junior Warrant Winners Semi-Final in October 2015, but had to be withdrawn as she came into season just before, so disappointing!
Dash appeared at Crufts 2016 and then spent the rest of the year at home and produced a fabulous litter of eight during the summer. a daughter 'Jessie' joined Dogs for Good. I had wanted a boy and there was only one - Rolo. He stayed along with his sister Sparkle and I love them as much as their mum.
Dash is such a poppet and was an outstanding mum, love her, love her, love her, what a legacy Champion Pepper has given me!
Sadly my beautiful Dash was diagnosed with a low thyroid early in 2019, so in spite of having many people waiting for Dash children, she has never been mated again as her safety is the most important thing to me, even though it doesn't affect her day to day life.
Such a relief that I kept both her son and a daughter from her first litter and now I have her equally beautiful grand-daughter too, thanks to Sparkle.
