*** A chance encounter with Bev Boocock at the Nidderdale Agricultural Show in 2018, led to Mara going to live near sunny Bradford a few months later, where she could enjoy one to one attention and be a devoted companion to Bev. So happy for both of them,although Mara loved he other dogs, she was always on the sidelines when it came to play. Sometimes you have to do what's best for them and it was clear Mara deserved her own person to dote on ***

Mild mannered Mara is a happy go lucky, affectionate and submissive girl, she is always at the bottom of the pile underneath the other dogs, but doesn't have a bad bone in her body and is so good natured she takes the rough and tumble without complaint. Cilla in particular has taken advantage of Mara's good nature and has knocked her over many times on the patio.
As a result I waited with baited breath for Mara's hip results as it was clear from her x-ray that she had had an injury on her right hand side and the joint was inflamed, though you would never know if you saw Mara run, jump and play. It was a relief when the score came back, as it could have been so much worse, in fact her total score is the same as Rhyme's (Stanroph Spring Rose at Tenfield) who mated to dogs scored in single figures produced only low scoring progeny. The difference is, Rhyme's was an even score whereas Mara's uneven score is the result of injury on one side. Her true hereditary score should have been an even score of 6-6. Bizarrely, Rhyme's half sister is Mara's two times great granny on her father's side.

Mara is a natural free standing waggy girl, with movement so very purposeful and true. She is slight of build and very light on her feet, her overall construction is perfect and she always stands four square. A typical Tenfield she is very slow to mature, Mara has only attended a handful of shows, but has Championship Show places and has been awarded Best Puppy and Best of Breed at Open Shows. She is very 'dual purpose' in make and shape, lighter in build than the majority of show dogs, but perfectly formed nevertheless with good bone. She will end up mid gold similar to her granny Rally.

As well as having her hips scored, Mara has been elbow scored zero, eye tested unaffected for all conditions including glaucoma (gonioscopy), as well as being heart tested clear, and DNA tested clear for GR_PRA 1&2 and Icthyosis.
