Rex is is a proven stud dog with several litters to his credit and has produced a CC winner, Junior Warrant winners and assistance dogs.
Two of his daughters live with him, the beautiful Rocket, who unfortunately was 6 months old when the Covid pandemic hit but has won many Championship Show firsts and her equally beautiful younger sister darker golden Shula who has her Junior Warrant and a Challenge Certificate with Best in Show.
Rex has also sired others who have won Best Puppy awards and Crufts qualifiers from relatively few litters. His daughter in New Zealand was Best Baby Puppy in the Gundog Group at her first show.

He has been eye tested clear for all conditions including Gonioscopy tested Grade 0 for Glaucoma, DNA tested clear for GR_PRA1 and GR_PRA2, DNA tested clear for both types of Ichthyosis, Hips 7-8, Elbows 0 and officially heart tested as free from any abnormalities.

Rex was born on New Years Eve 2017, the only boy in a litter of just four puppies. I had wanted a boy from Kiwi for a long time, this was her third litter and my last chance. Her mating days clashing with my dad's funeral, meant we were lucky to have any puppies at all.

Rex is named after my late Auntie's black Labrador Retriever, my favourite of her Labradors who I always loved to visit on our trips to Montrose when I was growing up and didn't have a dog of my own.

Also known as Rexy Reximillion or just Million (he comes to them all!), Rex is such a genuine and kind boy, though as a youngster was a handful in the show ring as he is such a happy chappy, always full of himself and very bouncy. He has effortless free striding movement with great extension and drive, but even as a veteran is still often puppyish on the move, skipping along and tapping his toes, he is such a happy boy!

As a puppy and junior he was awarded first in his class at four out of seven Championship Shows and was highly placed at the others. He has also amassed a number of Open Show firsts in both breed and variety classes, including Best Puppy awards. He gained the final point for his Junior Warrant a week after winning his first Open Show Best of Breed award where he was also shortlisted to the final seven for Best in Show. He was 3rd in his class at Crufts 2020 and after the return of shows in July 2021 he won Championship Show Post Graduate classes and a 2nd in a Limit class.

Full of life and effervescent, Rex has the kindest of temperaments, he loves everyone and everything. Fit and lively, ultra obedient and biddable, he has a profuse dark golden wavy golden coat. Rex matured into a very handsome boy and is loved by all who know him. My friends love his tappy toes Rexy dance when he is excited.

Rex has had some wonderful critiques from judges, with an excellent length of leg, strong bone and cat-like feet, he is definitely fit for function. Sadly, ill health for me meant he hasn't been out in the show ring as much as I would have liked and gundog training also had to take a back seat. I wish I had him 20 years ago, he is definitely the man in my life!

We are located just over the border from North Yorkshire in beautiful Barnard Castle, not far from the trans-Pennine A66 linking the A1 at Scotch Corner and M6 at Penrith.
