Tula qualified for Crufts 2026 at Bath Championship Show
Tula qualified for Crufts 2025 at The South West Golden Retriever Club Championship Show in March 2024
Tula and her brother qualified for Crufts 2024 at The Golden Retriever Club of Wales in February, by coming 3rd and 1st in their (Graduate) class. I rushed from 1 ring with Rostov, to take Tula in.... a bit stressful, I'm not sure I did Tula justice! But we qualified, and we beat a fair few dogs to do so.
Tula could not be more different to her brother, she is full of energy and seems to have a policy of why walk when you can run? Up until lockdown I walked 'the twins' separately, with a grown up dog. The time apart did them both good, litter siblings can be a challenge and I was determined to not have problems. Come lockdown I stuck to the rules and did 1 walk from home, which was no fun with 2 puppies of 7 months in age and 2 adult dogs! Tula, a wee slip of a lass, decided that when her brother, a big lad, was there the best way to prove her superiority was to pull. I was devastated as I've never had a dog who pulled, and it's not funny, or easy to train out, as she would only do it when Rostov was there. But I got there, it took a while and she is now a pleasure in every respect. She is doing for Molly what Molly did for Spice and that is keeping her young. Molly adores Tula and if she wants to play with her, she just splits Tula and Rostov up and hey presto, Tula plays with her. When Mia and Molly were enjoying a game recently, Tula split them up and made Molly play with her instead. I don't deny keeping siblings has been incredibly challenging, Tula being the biggest challenge, (or perhaps I should cite covid?) I absolutely adore her, she is a ballsy little madam, (with a tiny pinch of small dog syndrome). The dynamics between the 4 of them are hilarious, amazing and just better than I could ever have wished for. Would I keep litter siblings again? No. Am I glad I did? Hell, yes!
