Hello, and thank you for your interest in a puppy so far. This is an introduction to our puppies in general and how we do things. At the bottom is a bit more information about this specific love match!
Obviously it is better in the first instance that we speak on the phone. So I would urge you to contact me in that way.
If you aren't quite ready for a puppy now but are looking for the future we do operate a waiting list. We also usually have a litter plan moving forward, so please ask us about this when we speak.
We do this for love. Despite being fully licensed breeders with Chesterfield Council and previously Assured Breeders with the Kennel Club, before the scheme closed in 2024, our dogs are our pets, we are very much hobby breeders with the hope of breeding a champion!
We are a 5 human household and have 4 young children in and out weekly! My parents are both elderly and retired and I work part time, self employed as a saddle fitter. My husband works full time but is flexible with his hours and helps a huge amount with the dogs and babies. My brother/cousin is also very involved in keeping the house running smoothly and loves puppy socialisation duties and dog walking!
Increasingly I am taking large amounts off work to look after the dogs and ensure puppies get whatever they need, whatever that takes and you get an amazing, confident, well socialised baby. It is unusual for me to work more than one day a week when we have a litter at home.
SO....
Our puppies want for nothing. They will be microchipped before they leave us and we will discuss vaccinations and the options surrounding that with you. Since Lepto 2 has become unavailable a lot of people have a lot of questions and the options we can offer you have changed.
Puppies stay here with us and their doggy family until they are 10 weeks old: for their benefit and yours.
Your puppy will have followed a careful worming program and have had its nails clipped every 2 weeks since birth.
As previously said. Your puppy will have wanted for nothing. Any minor (or less minor) concerns will have been taken to our wonderful vets. I will be 100% open with you about anything we have experienced with your baby or the whole litter. We are transparent and honest.
All puppies come with an excellent puppy pack.
Food, Treats, Toys and more.
And as much help and advice as I can give you. Hopefully for life.
We have done our best to ensure our puppies are exposed to a busy, noisy and enriching environment. They will all be well handled/socialised with adults and children ( and the rest of the pack when old enough) hoovers, washers, TV, hairdryer, fan, mop and bucket, hose pipes, car engines, radio, general banging and life noises. They are usually in the lounge for cuddles, for parts of the day, with everyone else by the time the are 7 weeks.
Your baby will have been travelled for short journeys before you pick them up.
All our dogs and puppies live in the house. We currently have no residential kennels on the premises. Just shelters. On the rare occasions our dogs are caged it is for safety, cleaning or necessities. They are never caged overnight or for long periods.
We are not believers in the new 'fashion' for 'crate training' puppies. They need to learn to be happy in a crate for safety reasons and to travel. If that is crate training, then that is what we do...
Puppies are whelped in the lounge, and remain there with mum for the first 2-4 weeks. They then move to the utility room for more space and garden access.
In the warmer months the litters spend a lot of voluntary time outside. In the winter there is often less enthusiasm! But the opportunity is still available and adventures are encouraged under supervision.
We do not keep our litters long term in pens or cages. We encourage them to move about as much as is sensible, as soon as they can safely do so. They always have as much space as we can safely make for them.
Your baby will already be learning the principles of toilet training and taking themselves outside to the toilet often by the time he or she leaves us. The move might upset this, but in the main they are very clean and trainable in this regard and if you're on top of your game they will learn very fast.
You are expected to sign contracts of obligation around various things before you can take one of our puppies home.
All puppies are breeding restricted and we will never lift this without careful consideration and never until a dog is 18 months minimum. A bitch must be circa 20 month, preferably 2 years old before she would be due to whelp. We will happily discuss all the reasons for this with you. Under the right circumstances we will happily lift restrictions when dogs are the right age.
We breed carefully and with great consideration for our dogs and what we are looking to achieve. We are always trying to promote good physical and mental health in our dogs.
We are routinely health testing our dogs moving forward. Backs, eyes and hearts.
If you are still interested in taking your enquiry further for this litter or in going on my wait list for future litters I look forward to speaking to you soon.
Thanks for reading
Diva is a very kind and fussy girl who devours attention and love! A good coat and great movement she did well being shown, including a 2nd in Junior at CRUFTS. A very petite girl at only 9kg I don't expect the girls in the litter to be overly big - which pleases me. Diva has very good and correct conformation. She is an enthusiastic worker and is particularly fond of chasing birds!
Diva has had her back scored and has also been and had her eyes and heart looked at. We are pleased with all the results. Her daughter from the same sire has also been looked at as she is now 3 years old and has a good back score and healthy eyes and heart.
Kissdachs Cuba Libre... Is a massive sooky dope with love and loyalty seeping out of his every pore. He has THE BEST coat and the biggest tightest feet! Very strongly built and a nice sensible size at just under 12kg
He has given me everything I wanted going over Betsy beforehand and has imparted all his finest qualities over the other litters he has sired.
Cuba has been X rayed for IVDD scoring and got a very good and healthy Grade 1. (His daughter Twix has scored a clean Grade 0) He has also has his eyes and heart checked and all is well.
All the health testing paperwork can be seen and copies made available for interested potential owners.
