Hello, and thank you for your interest in a puppy so far. This is an introduction to our puppies in general and how we do things.

Obviously it is better in the first instance that we speak on the phone. So I would urge you to contact me in that way.

(Emily)

We do not take deposits for puppies as we like people to feel they can change their minds without penalty.

There is a book, and we home puppies in book order, no-one jumps the queue.

WE ARE LICENSED WITH CHESTERFIELD BOROUGH COUNCIL
WE ARE ASSURED BREEDERS WITH THE UK KENNEL CLUB

Our puppies and dogs are attended 24 hours a day. They are never left without humans close by except overnight when they are secure with Mum while we are in bed. I also have a camera monitor.

Please contact me for the price of our babies.

I have become increasingly aware that we do things quite differently to the majority. Feel free to quiz me on everything to your hearts content!

Primarily our dogs are our pets, we are very much hobby breeders with the vague hope of one day breeding a champion!

My parents are both elderly and retired and I work part time self employed as a saddle fitter. Increasingly I am taking large amounts of time off my day job to look after the dogs and ensure puppies get whatever they need, whatever that take’s and you get an amazing, confident, well socialised baby. My partner is also self employed full time and assists in the care of the dogs and puppies when needed.

I am currently studying for my level 3 and 4 diplomas in canine care, welfare, behaviour and training.

SO....

Our puppies and fully vaccinated and chipped before they leave.

They stay here with us and their doggy family until they are 10 weeks old: for their benefit and yours. Or until they find their perfect humans

Your puppy will have followed a careful worming program and have had its nails clipped every 2 weeks since birth.
Your puppy will be checked twice by our vets. We will ask you to take your puppy to your vet in the first 10 days to have a once over, get registered and have a meet and greet. Please take your puppies paperwork with you and let us know immediately of any concerns.

Your puppy will have wanted for nothing. Any minor (or less minor) problems will have been taken to our wonderful vets. I will be 100% open with you about anything we have experienced with your baby or the whole litter. We are transparent and honest.

All puppies come with an excellent puppy pack.
Information, Food, Treats, Toys and more.
And as much help and advice as I can give you.
If you need me to send links to advised products or indeed by things in advance on your behalf and put a kit together with an extra invoice, noting is too much trouble. Please talk to me about anything you need help with.

We have done our best to ensure our puppies are exposed to a busy, noisy and enriching environment. They will all be well handled/socialised with adults and children ( and the rest of the pack when old enough) hoovers, washers, TV, hairdryer, fan, mop and bucket, hose pipes, car engines, radio, general banging and life noises. They are usually in the lounge for cuddles, for parts of the day, with everyone else by the time they are 7 weeks.

Your baby will have travelled a minimum of 4 times by the time you pick them up. Each for half an hour.

Older puppies that stay with us longer begin training for their KC awards straight away and get out and about being socialised and exposed to life.

All our dogs and puppies live in the house. We currently have no kennels on the premises. On the rare occasions our dogs are caged in it is for safety, cleaning or necessities. They are never caged overnight unless necessary for health and safety reasons- or for long periods. We are not believers in the new 'fashion' for 'crate training' puppies. They need to learn to be happy in a crate for safety reasons and to travel. But being locked in for extended periods, at any time, is, in our opinion, unacceptable. If I need to pee or poop I like to be able to get out of bed to do it! Even if I can’t make it to the loo!

Puppies are whelped in the lounge and remain there with mum for the first 2-4 weeks. They then move to the utility room for more space and garden access.
In the warmer months the litters spend a lot of voluntary time outside. In the winter there is often less enthusiasm! But the opportunity is still available.

We do not keep our litters long term in pens or cages. We encourage them to move about as much as is sensible, as soon as they can safely do so. They always have as much space as we can safely make for them.

In most cases your baby will already be learning the principles of toilet training and be taking themselves outside to the toilet by the time he or she leaves us. The move might upset this, but in the main they are very clean and trainable in this regard and if you're on top of your game they will learn very fast. On an average morning out litters are not pooping in the house at 8 weeks old. Except for the odd mishap!

You are expected to sign contracts of obligation around various things before you can take one of our puppies home.
Please remember, you are taking on the equivalent of a human toddler in the format of a working hound puppy. You need to be prepared, have done your research and be ready for the challenge and all the rewards it brings. Working full time, without help/babysitters and looking after a small hairy person rarely goes hand in hand. You will be rigorously screened for suitability. This doesn’t mean no… it means how?!?

All puppies are breeding restricted and we will never lift this without careful consideration and never until a dog is 18 months minimum. A bitch must be circa 20 months, preferably 2 years old before she would be due to whelp. We will happily discuss all the reasons for this with you. Under the right circumstances we will happily lift restrictions when dogs are the right age.

We breed carefully and with great consideration for our dogs and what we are looking to achieve. We are always trying to promote good physical and mental health in our dogs.

Although not compulsory, over the coming months I will be organising IVDD and eye screening for all our dogs. We have had no instances of IVDD or optical health issues in any of our dogs to date.

If you are still interested in taking your enquiry further and going on my wait list... I look forward to speaking to you.

Thanks for reading all my waffle
