Venus and Dabble's litter arrived very promptly on the 26th of June. She had 10 babies, 8 boys and 2 girls of each colour, our little black girl has become available and we're so keen to find the perfect special home for her. We would love to hear from you.
Venus is our 2nd generation on from our foundation litters. Her pedigree is a beautiful combination of my highly talented Ruddleberry Songbird, Reethi, who I still rely on as my partner on shoot days and still competes at working tests at 8 years old. Venus' sire, My amazing foundation dog, Blacklake Oberon of Ruddleberry, Jester, who lived to 13 years, and who competed at shows and worked on the shoot well into his veteran years. He was a gentle, reliable gundog, he is so greatly missed.
Venus is very fast in all terrains, especially water, (we often say she's semi aquatic!) when working and a quick versatile learner, but very biddable, quiet and soft, tenderly retrieving to hand. At home she is calm and gentle but loves to show off to visitors and bid for attention. She loves nothing more than cuddling up on the sofa. She has a sensitive but cunning nature. We expect she will show as much dedication to her first litter as she does in everything else, she loves in life.
Dabble is showing so much promise in competitive obedience, he has already achieved a lot. His owner, Caroline Eley is a highly talented and experienced handler, to date, is the only person to achieve championship in obedience with a flatcoat; her beautiful Tangle, Kywidden Morvenna.
Dabble's pedigree is a perfect combination of highly respected working flatcoat kennels. Dabble himself and litter mates have showed potential, with achieved accolades respecibly, their pedigree showing their capabilities before them. He is an excellent example of a workman like flatcoat in appearance, presenting an image of the standard expected by the kennel club.
A few words by Caroline Eley, Dabble's owner
Dabble is a handsome, kind dog with a great attitude to work. He competes in competitive obedience at the highest level. He qualified to work championship C at the age of just 3, having gone from novice to ticket in less than a year. He is a keen and stylish worker. He won the reserve ticket at Petersfield Championship Show which gave him his stud book number.
He has also trained in gundog work where he is keen and fast but still listens to his handler. He has a great stop whistle.
Ruddleberry flatcoated retrievers has been my vision since my first flatcoat Bentley came to our family in 1997, meeting him as a young girl in his breeder's home, a passion for well-bred dogs was ignited, and my dream of creating my own kennel and breeding beautiful healthy dogs with a purpose grew over the years. I couldn't imagine my dream involving any other breed. Flatcoats are a breed apart, their loyalty and passion for life and eternal optimism has become my philosophy. “Live life like a flatcoat!” Along with invaluable help and advice from highly knowledgeable and experienced friends and mentors who I've met along the way, my dream and vision is becoming real.
Venus has taken her pregnancy in her stride, and we cannot wait to meet hers and Dabble's new babies, hoping they will make an equally talented impact with any discipline their new families wish to pursue, be it Gun doggery, obedience, agility or a beloved new family member.
Our puppies are always reared sincerely with the up most care and dedication, relying on years of experience and knowledge with no expense spared. My litters are reared in our family home surrounded by the usual hustle and bustle of a young family, I encourage my son and daughter to be involved with the litter's nurture, providing a rich progressive environment as the puppies grow. We take the up most care in choosing the homes our puppies go on to live with, in the strong belief that my passion for my dogs is shared.
Our puppies will be Kennel Club registered, with their pedigrees endorsed. Microchipped, 4 weeks free insurance with PetPlan, vet checked at 7-8 weeks and a life time of advise and return to breeder guarantee. They will be ready to join their new homes from 8 weeks of age with a homemade goodie bag and starter pack of food.
