From our talented home bred, dual purpose Flatcoated retrievers, our intention is to breed beautiful, biddable, intelligent dogs true to the breed standard and can happily, train, work and play all day by your side and potentially hold their own in the show ring. Above all we breed for health and temperament.

Your puppy will be reared with integrity, love and devotion from the whole family from the moment they are born. No expense spared to the highest of standards. My passion is this beautiful breed and it is a privilege to be a custodian to this bequest.

Hazel is my beautiful intelligent rich liver girl from my second foundation litter. She has always known her own mind which is typical of the breed but her gentle and kind disposition makes her the best companion for all who know her. She is a fast and direct working dog during the shooting season perfect for retrieving lost birds, she's sensitive but determined and everyone's best friend especially if you're prepared to share a tasty morsel! Her pedigree is one I'm so proud of, mixing 2 very special lines of traditional English Flatcoats going back generations and an award winning international combination of champion show dogs and working potential. We still have Hazel's dear old dad, Jester who is 13, showing the line has longevity. Jester is my only remaining foundation dog who was the best introduction to working Flatcoats I could have had, he's always been my dog, totally devoted though full of humour still as his name suggests! Hazel's previous litters are proving successful with her daughter and son qualifying for Crufts and another son winning awards in obedience. Hazel has been shown very little as working has been our main focus but her last show, the Flatcoated retriever society champ show 2022, she won best liver bitch under a breed specialist (who also chose best in show at Crufts that same year!) and second in the junior handling ring, handled by my 6 year old daughter (at the time)

Lark is a very masculine Flatcoat with a jovial disposition, he's a great big loveable goofy doofus but can shamelessly problem solve to the amazement of us all! He is the most brilliant biddable dog and fast learner when training, incredibly sensitive but strong, capable and brave. On the shoot, his speciality is retrieving from crop. He was number 13 from his litter, I chose to keep him after he was successfully resuscitated by me, our bond has been inseparable ever since. His pedigree is a stunning combination of many award winning Flatcoats from notable kennels including my wonderful Ruddleberry Songbird, Reethi, who did me proud so many times, including her valuable contribution to the breed with her litters who have inherited her abilities for various disciplines and her working competitions.

All my dogs are BVA health tested to the recommended standard with exceptional results, both parents have balanced hip scores and excellent eye test results.

On visiting your puppy, also viewable will be Hazel, the puppies' mother, Lark, the puppies' father, Lark's mum Reethi, Hazel's dad Jester, Aunty Venus and big sister Ember.

Our hope for this litter is to provide, as we have done before, our puppies with the best possible start in life so that their new families can enjoy years of exceptional adoration and fun with the potential to follow any ambition or discipline, from a beloved family addition, shooting companion, show conformation to representing the breed in agility or obedience, we're always proud of what ever our families choose to pursue.

Your puppy will come home at 8 weeks old, microchipped, vet checked with a comprehensive guide and puppy pack with a month's free insurance by Petplan.

Your puppy is a pedigree Flatcoated retriever, reared with the up most sincerity and passion with no expense spared, our expectation is our Flatcoats live full enriched lifes of our approval with honest intentions and in return, we provide a lifetime of advise and kindred friendship. We want the new owners to know, their Ruddleberry bred flatcoat will always be welcome back at any age for what ever reason, we provide a contract to this affect.

We endorse pedigrees, to protect the breed and ensure any progeny is of the same quality we strive to breed.

We worm our puppies regularly. Your puppy will be fully weaned with a diet provided for the first week or more, we use and highly recommend Essential dog food and Forthglade who will provide you with puppy starter packs.

They are formally reared in our family home with all the usual hustle and bustle, including interaction with children and other dogs. We make a start on house training your puppy.

We choose the right home for each puppy depending on what your hopes and what your lifestyle is like, we do this by Volhard aptitude testing our puppies at 7 weeks (do ask to find out more)
