With much excitement, we are proud and delighted to announce the arrival of the new generation of Ruddleberry Flatcoated retrievers! Robin had 10 babies, 8 bitches and 2 dogs, split evenly into 5 black and 5 liver.
Currently we have one black bitch available. If you think you can provide the best home for our precious baby, we will consider your application, we favour local enquires, experienced flatcoat people which have similar ambitions as our selves.
all the other puppies are reserved
Jester & Robin, are my idolised family dogs. They are intelligent and natural gundogs who work during the shooting season and compete at various events including select shows and working tests
This is Robin's second litter, she was an incredible natural mother to her first litter. She is a beautiful liver bitch with a good working CV and a very traditional example of the breed. She has gained her shooting dog certificate and Kennel Club working gundog certificate which qualifies her for Crufts for life. Her pedigree is full of talented dogs in the field and show ring. She is an intelligent, gentle girl who aims to please. The easiest and most pleasurable dog to live with.
Jester is different in type to Robin but has incredible natural ability, he was born to find me pheasants which he does with speed, cunning and 100% natural ability. He carries liver and his pedigree is a mix of show and working lines. His temperment is very typically Flatcoat, kind and exuberant. He does things the flatcoat way but he does it well and we love him for it. He's an incredibly loyal dog and gives everything his all.
They both have exceptional temperments and health test results. Jester hips 2:2 elbows 0:0 and Gonioscopy free
Robin hips 0:0 Elbows 0:0 and Gonioscopy free
The litter's COI is 1.4% (calculation based on 8 complete generation pedigree) which is below the breed average. Several generations back linebred to the talented Waverton Toby Ale of Veringo who was an exceptional liver dog in his time but mixing lines from Germany with award winning pedigrees which can be traced back generations.
Our litter will be ready to leave to their new homes from mid August. They will come well socialised with people including babies and children, other house hold dogs and the hustle and bustle of a busy home. Their house training will be started and basic obedience introduced. We will also Volhard aptitude test to assess temperment and future potential.
The puppies will come having been vet checked (7-8 weeks) Regularly wormed (every 2 weeks from 3 weeks of age) Microchiped (at 6-7 weeks) and come Kennel Club registered with a puppy pack including free 5 weeks free insurance (by the Kennel Club). It is the responsibility of the new owner to vaccinate their Puppy. We will provide a life time of help, support and advise in all aspects of ownership and welfare
We hope our puppies will grow up to have lives similar to our dogs, full of activities and family pursuits which involve them. The flatcoated retriever is the perfect family dog, they are fun loving socialites with everyone and everything and should never have a cross word, making them incredibly patient, trusting and forgiving breed if handled with great care and love but they do require constant companionship.
Training should be on going throughout their lives (as with any dog) They are a biddable breed and will enjoy possitive training techniques.
Exersising an adult flatcoat is a daily task and they require at least an hours walk from 1 year of age to maintain their fitness stimulation and well being. (As puppies, once vaccinated, will require short walks of 5 mins per month of age)
Flatcoats require the very best quality diet, they will not thrive on an ecconomy brand, we recommend certain dry kibble for convenience but raw feeding should be taken into consideration if you are properly committed to the method.
(As previously mentioned, we can provide advise from all areas of ownership and welfare for the entireity of the dogs life.)
Dispite their parents admirable talents, we hope the puppies will be first and foremost, adored family members, any additional (appropriate) pursuits would be greatly supported, they could make fantastic agility, obedience, tracking or heel work to music dogs, if gundog work or showing is not your thing, we would be delighted to hear any progress and ready to support!
Our puppies will be raised sincerely with the greatest amount of love and time spent and no expense spared. Their Dam puts a tremendous amount of effort into their development and nourishment giving them the best start possible. Our consideration of entrusting them to their new families is a reflection of our understanding that they will continue as we have started.
If you feel a Ruddleberry Flatcoated Retriever is for you, we'd love to hear from you, but due to the time taken in vetting everyone properly, it's important to us that you are absolutely committed to the breed, our litter and respect our terms, our puppies are extremely precious so the greatest care is taken over choosing the right home. All enquiries will be responded to via email only but usually with in a day and with a request of you answering our general housekeeping questions. We love detail so please include as much information about you as possible :-)
Thank you for considering our puppies and we look forward to hearing from you
