This is an incredibly exciting litter for us at Wildnook as we bred Oak ourselves!!
Tilly, oaks mother is nicknamed my dream dog, so when she had her first litter I Ofcourse had to keep two (one of which being Oak, and one being her brother, Colonel) Oak has done me so proud and is exactly what I hoped for. She is the sweetest dog, very biddable and not typical spaniel like in the sense of she very much wants to please you! Her mother is a little more independent minded, but Oak herself is loyal to the core. She hunts hard and absolutely loves her job in the field picking up on grouse, pheasant and partridge shoots 4-6 days a week. She’s steady as a rock, and completely trusted to control her high drive during busy drives and then works like a machine once released, not shy to pick any type of game. Near the end of the season last year I also had a chance to have her sit on the peg with me, and again she was steady as a rock.
I’ve put Oak to Hunter who we went to see in Wales. We actually used Hunter on Oaks mother last year aswell and the litter turned out incredible. I originally sourced him out for Oak, as she’s abit smaller than her mother, but still of nice traditional type, I thought again a nice strong dog would compliment her well and after researching him more I thought he’d also go nicely with her mother last year - unfortunately I did not keep from that litter but watching them grow up has made me even more excited for his pairing with oak, which I will be keeping from. We even have a puppy from this litter overseas and this has been our most complimented litter yet! Hunter works full time during the shooting season and even retrieves turkeys on one of his local shoots!
Both dogs are health tested.
Oak loves her work but is also able to switch the off switch and enjoy a hike and pub trip just like all at wildnookgundogs love to do!!
As always, we do have a waiting list for this litter however puppies will be placed to ‘best fit’ homes after thorough vetting (these are not always necessarily working homes) and if you’d like to be considered for one of these puppies, please get intouch for more information.
