**UPDATE 1 JULY**
We would like to thank everyone for the interest that has been shown in Maisy & Royal's litter. Breeding is always an extremely busy and exhausting time. This litter was no exception but probably 20 times more stressful and exhausting than our previous 8 litters. When the puppies were just 9 days old Maisy developed mastitis which meant she had to have antibiotics, pain relief, vet appointments and the puppies needed some top up feeds. Sadly when the puppies were13 days old Maisy became very ill as the mastitis had turned necrotic which meant she had to be admitted to an emergency vet over the early May Bank Holiday. This left Rachel and I extremely worried as we were aware that we could lose her through sepsis. We also had to learn how to bottle feed 9 very hungry puppies (initially every three hours). Once Maisy was allowed home, despite having a second abscess occur which left a huge open wound, with the expert care she received from our vet, Maisy eventually made a full recovery. As her milk production had been stopped due to the medication she was in she was unable to feed her puppies, so Rachel and I continued to bottle feed and start weaning the puppies slightly earlier than we would normally do.

***UPDATE 28 MAY *** Due to a change in circumstances we have a puppy available - he/she will be ready to go to a very special home from 17 June 2018. Genuine enquiries are welcome - but please only contact me if you fully understand the comittment you make when you own a puppy that will grow up into a large breed that loves muddy puddles and requires lots of your time and affection. We would particularly welcome enquiries from people who either currently own a golden retriever or who have previously owned one. We are delighted to announce that Maisy and Royal's puppies arrived on 23 April 2018. Although she was scanned for 7 puppies, Maisy produced 9 puppies in a record breaking time of 3hrs 25mins - no doubt Maisy was concerned that if she didn't get a move on she would miss her afternoon tea. This is a first litter for Maisy but after the initial shock of having nine hungry mouths to feed she is becoming the perfect mother.

We don't breed very often so each and every puppy born at Eveninghill is very special to us. All the puppies have been given a temporary pet name, as they were born as the birth of the new prince was announced and with their sire's pet name being Royal, there was only one option : The boys are Charles, William, Harry, George and Louis whilst the girls are Diana, Zara, Charlotte and Helga!! They will be reared in our home and will be well socialised. The puppies will be weaned on to a raw food and we will be encouraging all new owners to continue with their raw diet.

I am gradually working my way through the huge number of enquiries for one of Maisy's puppies. If you are still interested and have not yet heard from me then please email me again with a landline contact number. I will not return calls to mobile numbers or one liners just asking to be placed on my puppy list. Genuine enquiries by email are welcome but be warned we require lots of information about you and your family before you will be invited to see our precious babies. The puppies welfare is our main concern. If you would like to be considered as prospective new owners please send an email giving some detail of your situation (family, home, pets, holidays, work). Please be aware that we expect all new owners to sign a contract agreeing that if at any time in the dogs life (puppy or adult) you are unable to continue to home them, then they must be returned to us. We also place breeding restrictions on either sex, this is to protect our precious babies. Believe us when we say that breeding is not a money making exercise, but can bring heartache as well as joy.

Each puppy will leave home with an individual puppy pack, including diet sheet, guidance notes, brush, comb, puppy shampoo, nylabone and 4 weeks free insurance. In addition each puppy will be microchipped, KC registered and wormed. We love to receive pictures and emails from each new puppy owner and hope that each one will keep in touch. An Eveninghill Group will be available so that all owners can share pictures and experiences with their extended family. We offer life long help and support.

The puppies will be ready to leave for their new homes towards the end of June.
