Eveninghill Mr Bojangles (or Boris to his friends) is Millie's (Pandreft Naughty But Nice by Eveninghill) son from her second litter. We are very proud that his sire is Sh Ch Stormerick Solomon, a dog we have admired since meeting him in the show ring in 2001 when Murphy was a young puppy. Boris has the most loving ways and all that meet him adore him, he really is a lovely boy. He follows me everywhere and the adoration is most definately a two way thing - I am totally besotted!
Boris never got to know his Great Granny - Wispa (Highcourt Makebelieve of Eveninghill) as we sadly lost her due to illness when he was just 8 days old but she would have loved him. He has inherited the funny little noises that she used to make when you stroked her ears and neck and also her dislike of rain!
Boris attended his first show on 21 Sep 08, Eastern Counties Golden Retriever Championship Show. We were delighted that he was awarded sixth place(12 shown), he took it all in his stride and considering that due to Pascha's illness I have been unable to take him to ringcraft for the last 6 weeks he was very well behaved.
He has continued to enjoy being shown and has gained places at both Championship and Open shows. At Southern Counties Championship Show in June 2009 I was delighted when he gained 4th place in both the Junior and Yearling classes, just narrowly missing a Crufts qualification.
Boris qualified for Crufts at Boston Championship Show in January 2010 by gaining a 3rd place in Yearling Dog. He will be attending the Crufts 2011 show.
Sadly on 23 July 2021, after a very worrying week, we had to make the call that would break our hearts into pieces. He fell asleep under the apple tree and was helped on to his journey by Sarah from Berry House. He was such a special boy, my very last direct connection to his grandad Murphy. He spent most of his days getting into mischief, he was obsessed with knobs and used to nudge every kitchen cabinet, dishwasher, gas, the range ignition, and hot water buttons. However, his specialty was the washing machine, he was forever turning it off and on. His finest moment was putting it out of action by setting the child lock. After 3 days of waiting on an engineer I realised that the machine wasn’t actually broken but had been given the Boris treatment.
Despite his mischievous nature, he really was the softest boy, I don’t think I ever heard him growl. He was full of fun and had the wiggliest and waggiest tail ever. He adored his golden family and loved nothing better than when we had a litter. He will be so missed by us all.
Sleep tight Boo Boos, till we see you again at Rainbow Bridge xx 💔💔💔💔
