Pippin is the fourth generation of goldies we have bred. She was 9 weeks on my birthday and I was not going to let her go! She loves to see us moving cars in the yard, getting ready for a game of tennis. She and her mum, Sue, were given Wimbledon Ball Girl bandanas for Christmas because they really do retrieve the tennis balls, delivering them to the horizontal racket

A true water baby, like the rest of the family, Pippin loves water in all its forms. She regularly takes a daily bathe in the river or pond. She loves to retrieve from the water and waits patiently, for her turn. Just like Oli used to do, she is fantastic at sniffing out freshly laid hens' eggs and with such an incredibly soft mouth she delivers them unscathed for us.

She was a delight in early gundog training, working expertly to heel; so much so that I was asked if I had some pate or cheese in my hand! In truth, we never use food for training just lots of love and praise. Due to lockdowns Pippin did not have the opportunity to attend the shows and agility activities that our other dogs have done. She did, however, do very well in a puppy class early on and went on to win The Loveliest Lady because the judge said she simply had the most beautiful face. In September 2023 she made up for such a quiet time in lockdowns by taking best in show which you can read about on our main page.

Pippin is a wonderful mother, three beautiful litters now, which have brought so much joy. She is amazing at always keeping her weight as it should be and not stressing over her offspring. She has been known to bring them back fresh eggs (unbroken - I have a picture!) and she also collects sticks for them to retrieve, actually showing them what to do.
