His head is just right for his age with strength of muzzle, strong teeth & correct bite. He has an alert keen expression. His neck is of moderate length & leads to close bladed shoulders. Well laid shoulders with a good return of upper arm placing his forelegs under his body. He stands on straight limbs with tight knit feet with deep pads. Level topline which he holds on the move. His ribs reach well back & he is narrow all through. He has a harsh grizzle double coat. Easily spanned with a thick loose pelt. Strength of second thigh & short rear pasterns. Moved out really well. BPD BPIS”

1st Puppy, Best Puppy Dog - LKA ‘24 - Sally Leslie (Risdene), who wrote “beautifully constructed, smart youngster, good for size, has all points covered but not too forward for his age. Good skull and expression. Nice body lines with ribs carried back well. Good angulation fore and aft. Self-assured and moved soundly holding his shape well. Not in his best jacket but outweighed by his many virtues. Should continue to progress well BPD”
1st Puppy, Best Puppy Dog - Manchester ‘25 - Paul Wilkinson, who wrote “A very smart looking dog with a super out line, good head, excellent eye, well placed ear, good strong muzzle and underjaw, very good in shoulder, good legs and feet, nice length of rib, in excellent coat with a good thick pelt, moved well in rear, just needs to settle in front, must have a very bright future”
1st Novice - Midland BTC Open Show ‘25 - Laura Jordan -Smith (Jordith), who wrote “A beautiful 12 months old grizzle dog, with a good otter head that houses large teeth with a correct bite. A dark eye and correct ear placement complete his masculine expression. He has a good length of neck and fore chest which leads to a straight front with enough bone. His feet are small and neat, with beautifully thick pads. He is ribbed well back with lovely angulation in his well muscled hindquarters which is completed with a short carrot tail. His fabulous easy and balanced gait in the class secured him his place. I liked this dog a lot and considered him for higher honours, unfortunately his movement in the challenge wasn’t quite as strong as in the class”
1st Graduate - Cleveland Dog Society ‘25 - Jemma McCarthy (Jarliba)
1st AV Terrier Junior, Best Terrier & Reserve Best In Show - Otley CS Limit Show ‘25 - Dale Hick (Datiro)

Everything flows from his neck into a well laid shoulder and body with ribs carried well back on to a strong loin and short tail straight off the rear. In good double coat he moved with drive from his well developed back end. Considered further”
1st Junior, 1st Graduate - WELKS ‘25 - Julie Guvercin (Glebeheath), who wrote “Lovely grizzle dog, just lacking his topcoat, but plenty of evidence of it coming in. Masculine head with super eye and expression. Strong muzzle, big teeth and big black nose leather. Light framed, nice neck and forehand, with level topline, easily spanned body and perfectly set, short carrot tail, which he carried well. Great rear, racy, not overdone, which he strode out to give a good side gait. More topcoat could have seen him go further, he was not easily discounted, nice dog”
1st Junior, 1st Graduate - Midland Border Terrier Club Championship Show ‘25 - John Bainbridge (Risdene),
Who wrote “Well made grizzle, with excellent head, on good length neck, into well ribbed back body, racy quarters, moved with drive. Coat ok”
1st Junior, 1st Graduate, Res CC - Three Counties ‘25 - Brian Aubrey (Jenabeck), who wrote “Very smart youngster, grizzle, true otter head, strong underjaw, narrow front, easily spanned, correct in shoulders, good jacket, true in topline, held his tail at correct angle. Moved well, fore and aft, just needs a little more muscle in backend and that will come with maturity. Should go on to do better things”
1st Junior, Res CC - Southern Border Terrier Club Championship Show ‘25 - Jane Roberts (Smalesmouth), who wrote “17 months grizzle. Lovely balanced dog built on narrow lines. Excellent head with dark eye, keen expression. I liked his length of neck into narrow shoulders. Very good length and shape of rib. Excels in topline and tailset. Easily spanned. He moved accurately on a long stride from all angles. Presented in very good double coat with thick pelt. Handles really well. Very promising young dog who just needs a little more time to mature but fully deserved his RDCC today”
1st Graduate - Border Union ‘25 - Judith Fawcett (Carrock), who wrote “Good for size, this well turned out dog has a nicely proportioned head, with neat ears and a lovely set of teeth. Well angulated, he spanned well with a good length of body. He moved out positively showing off his level topline and well set tail. He has a thick pelt, but a tad short of coat today”
1st Junior, BOB - The Royal Cheshire County Premier Open Show ‘25 - Valerie Atkinson (Raedwulf), who wrote “16 month old grizzle dog in super harsh coat with pliable pelt and plenty of undercoat. Broad in skull with strong muzzle, good bite and neat ear. Has the loveliest of expression, especially when playing up his handler. Good reach of neck, leading to correct shoulder with narrow rib, very easy to span. Well muscled, with good rear angulation and tight feet, finished off with a level topline and tail straight off the back. When pulling away from his handler, he was a tad wide behind, but when settled, it showed he was not”
Terrier Group 3 - Ian Gabriel (Gaybryl), who wrote “Very smart young border who might have placed higher if he hadn’t given his handler such a hard time. Scored in head which is typical. Good neck and shoulder. Good bone and feet. Pleasing topline and well-set tail nicely carried. Correct racy hind quarters. Good pelt and jacket”
1st Graduate - Blackpool ‘25 - Tracey James (Blackmine), who wrote “r/g very similar to my class winner. Pleasing head, nice expression and neat ears. In lovely coat. Easily spanned. Moved out with drive, but could be tidier in front.”

Pleasing head, good reach of neck, flowing in to well laid shoulders, level topline and correct tail set. He has a narrow front with small, tight feet, easily spanned. He held a lovely profile on the move, pushing hard for top honours.”
1st Junior, Res CC - Northern Border Terrier Club Championship Show ‘25 - Jayne Gillam (Orenberg), who wrote “G&T. Quality young male presented in cracking form, displays excellent breed type. He’s not a particularly big dog, everything is in moderation, with no exaggerations. Nicely proportioned otter like head, with a short strong muzzle, well placed V shaped ears and strong underjaw. Excellent teeth. Loved his neck into narrow well angulated shoulders, firm topline with a really good set on and short thick, then tapering tail. Stood well on good legs and small neat feet. Liked his racy hindquarters and short rear pasterns, not overdone in any way. Looked a picture in the stack and on the move. Res CC”
1st Junior - Leeds ‘25 - Peter Armstrong (Atron), who wrote “Lovely grizzle dog. Beautifully balanced dog who possesses a super otter like head with super dark eye and keen expression, strong muzzle and big teeth. Nice neck and forehand into narrow shoulders with firm, level topline, easily spanned and correctly set on short carrot tail, which he carried well. Great rear hindquarters and short pasterns, which he used to advantage to stride out around the ring. Small neat feet. Presented and handled really well. To be critical, just lacking topcoat condition at present. Was considered for further honours, perhaps on another day.”
2nd Post Graduate- Welsh KC ‘25 - Jill Peak (Bayard), who wrote “18 months male, good type, shown in good coat. Pleasing head and expression, nice legs and feet, like more depth of chest, well ribbed, good quarters, could move better”
2nd Post Graduate- Driffield’25 - Julie Fletcher (Northborders), who wrote “Grizzle and Tan boy with a beautiful straight front, nice typical head and expression, correct bite, lovely length to his neck into lovely laid shoulders, stands well over his front on neat, tight feet, ribbed well back and is very easily spanned, today he came with no coat and sadly this cost him, has good reach on the move”
2nd Post Graduate- Joint BTC ‘25 - Jane Morton Shaw (Fehmarn), who wrote “Another lovely typy male who was easy to span. Good bend of stifle & front and rear angulation. Nice length of neck in to well laid back shoulders. Moved well but just lacking in coat today”
