Terrier Group 1 - Leeds ‘25 - Bob Blackley (Vaevictis), who wrote “ Firstly, I thank all the committee for inviting me to judge the Terrier Group at this excellent show, I also thank all the exhibitors, plus all my fellow Judges for their good selections giving me a fantastic strong Terrier Group, with thoughts to make for all positions.
When I am judging terriers, I always give thought about their ability to do the job they were bred for, how they fit the breed standard, construction, type & temperament plus inherited faults in certain breeds, plus health and fitness.
From an almost complete Terrier Group, only the BT (Miniature) and the Kerry Blue absent, I selected my shortlist of Bedlington, Border, Cesky, FT (Wire), Norfolk, Norwich, Scottish, Sealyham, Skye, Welsh and WHWT. I placed these in the following order;-
Group 1 : MCPHERSON, Mr S A - Brumberhill Bit O' Blarney JW - BORDER TERRIER – Dog
I loved this dog when first came into the ring, this b/t Border Terrier dog looked so confident in the big ring, he had a lovely shape and balance while moving with good clean movement covering the ground well, when I checked his structure, I found he has a good, otter head, strong jaw and muzzle, moderately broad skull, dark eye, showing a keen expression, he is spannable, excellent coat and pelt, with a good racy backend, I loved everything about him, he is so sound without exaggeration’s.”
