What an eventful New Year's Eve 2017!
Maya delighted us by delivering 3 gorgeous black girls and 5 boys, sired by Wes ..( the late Wesley )
GB CH & IRISH SHOW CHAMPION MEADOWLEIGH BROWN SUGAR.
Wes was bred by ourselves and his amazing successes in the show ring speak for themselves.

At this time of writing, he has been awarded 14 CC's and 6 Reserve CC's as well as several BEST in SHOW wins here in the UK and also achieving marvellous results in Ireland where in 2017, he gained his IRISH TITLE.

Maya has been a super first time mum to her seven puppies and her list of wins and other excellent show placings including Crufts Qualifiers, are a credit to her breeding and lovely type.
Nessa has remained with us and so far, she has proved to have the most delightful nature and to be a source of interest, joy and entertainment!
She has become great buddies with her now late Grandma.. Roma
( M Romantica ) and up until early June 2018, had spent many happy 'learning' moments being tutored by her late Great Grandma..Ruby, M Mariella who was also Wes's mother.

Together, we were hoping that her 'older' family relatives will have helped teach Nessa the good manners which we would expect from any Meadowleigh puppy.
This has proved to be true!

Ringcraft and other essential training soon began.
Thankfully and like her parents, Nessa also seems to be a fast learner which stood her in good stead when it came to fetching dummies and listening to early instructions and commands..We certainly hoped so!

April 20th 2019
Alan Davey (Clanfield Labradors) judged the breed at SOUTH WESTERN GUNDOG CLUB at Exeter where he had a super entry of 35 with only 2 absent.

'Star of the day! Most beautiful black bitch, full of quality.
Lovely head & expression with a good length of muzzle & neat ears. Such a soft look when you stand back & looked at the eyes with correct shape & colour. Great depth in a mature body for one so young, good length of neck, true topline which she kept well on the move, good tail off the back & a correct good double coat, moved out soundly & with drive'

At YEOVIL & DISTRICT CS on 13th July 2019 breed judge Nigel Small (Ulfberht) assessed the Labradors & credited Nessa with RESERVE BEST OF BREED from POST GRADUATE (8)

'Black bitch of nearly 2 years old taking this the biggest class by far with some strong competition.
A beautiful young girl, oozing type, feminine head with correct eye colour & shape, muzzle & earset giving a soft
inquisitive expression. Good through neck into well laid shoulders, strong & well defined rear quarters.
Exhibited in good hard condition. Good angulation front & back with a good turn of stifle.
Stood fours square & moved beautifully'

Championship shows during 2019 brought some super successes for Nessa in large Bitch classes..

2ND JUNIOR BITCH at 3 Counties CS, Maureen Rees (Eremos)

1ST YEARLING BITCH at Bournemouth, Jenny King (Linthwaite)

VHC in October, at Gundog Society of Wales
Hugh (Brynhllwan)

Then Covid hit the country after Crufts and all shows were cancelled!

In January 2021, Nessa gave us 8 puppies sired by chocolate GB Sh Ch, Irish Sh Ch Naiken Elite Envoy (AI)

Then...returning to the ring in August 21 under Jenny King, a 3RD place in LIMIT gave Nessa her STUD BOOK NUMBER which Crufts qualifies her for a Lifetime.

February 22, a RESERVE at LRC WALES in a strong Limit class, under Judge Leigh Lesley ( Steeleigh)

Martyn Ress ( Castellcoch) awards Nessa RESERVE BEST OF BREED
Black individual of merit. Correct proportions in head which with is feminine with good eye & expression with excellent dentition.
Neck has strength with a well filled forechest. She has excellent ribbing with a level topline leading to a correct & well set otter tail.
Bone has quality with neat compact feet. Presented in correct double coat & moved out with accurate footfall.
Todsy, I just preferred the extra sparkle for BOB of her daughter from the Junior class. Reserve Best of Breed.


Since these earlier days, Nessa has matured into a most beautiful bitch & has achieved some outstanding show awards from well known breed judges.
Too many in fact to report!
