It is with much sadness that we report the passing of Fergus at the age of almost 13, on Monday, 8 May 2023.
Fergus's departure brings to an end almost 50 years of Golden Retrievers at Horham.

Fergus was bought in from Scotland aged 7 weeks in July 2010 and was instantly accepted by the other dogs in the family - quickly becoming best mates with Bentley (Cattrysse Raindancer for Horham); the two were inseparable most of the time until Bentley's death in November 2016.

Fergus was a Championship Show winner, including Best Puppy in Show awards, and he went Best Puppy Dog in breed at the WELKS Championship Show in 2011 under Pat Arnold. He was also a Best of Breed winner, with Group placing.

Fergus had a hip score of 6:3, elbows graded 0:0 and clear eyes under the KC/BVA scheme (see results of health tests above). With both his parents having been DNA tested clear for both GR_PRA 1 and GR_PRA2, Fergus was clear of both these conditions "by inheritance". Fergus retired from stud in 2016.
