Kindrogan Golden Retrievers

Ours is a small family of Golden Retrievers, currently numbering five, who live indoors in our Lancashire home. They are all descended from old lines rarely found these days, originally nurtured by my oldest sister, Merriol Haselden (Overdene Golden Retrievers), and since 2004, by my third sister, Clare Svennevik (Dirnanean Golden Retrievers).

There have been Golden Retrievers in our family since the 1930s from the time they were my father's working gundog of choice. He and my mother spent many happy times in Perthshire, Scotland, especially in the summer at their home there - Dirnanean. The neighbouring estate, owned by their friends, was called Kindrogan - and that is where our kennel name comes from.

Our girls all live indoors as family and as a general rule, we only have a litter when it's time to keep a puppy for our line, or when someone in the family would like one. Additionally, our girls usually only have a maximum of 2 litters each, so currently (February 2024) we have no plans for puppies at Kindrogan before 2025 at the very earliest. Eyes are tested under the KC/BVA scheme, and hips and now elbows are usually X-rayed and scored/graded when our girls are old enough at around 14 months. Our litters are raised indoors with controlled access to a safe area of our garden (weather permitting) from about 5 weeks old - and we always hope to hear from people who have our puppies for as long as they would like to keep in touch with us - and we are always happy to answer questions and provide advice.

All Kindrogan Golden Retriever puppies have their KC registrations endorsed "progeny not eligible for registration" and "not eligible for the issue of an export pedigree" and for this reason, we NEVER send puppies to homes overseas, even if we already know the enquirers.
