DOC: Doc is the result of superb pairing himself; his father a proven Show Champion over and over again, from the well renowned and highly respected Kennel, Barleyarch; his Mother, again from a tremendous and well renowned Kennel but this time in the Field, Aytee, a Field Trial Champion of considerable standing and was a carefully planned, long awaited litter itself. The mix of Show and Field really drawing in and exaggerating the superb qualities seen in Doc - from his Noble stature, excellent confirmation and movement to his abilities in the Field and on top of this a temperament that is just typical of the breed I simply adore. Gentle, biddable, loyal and oh so loving. He has been an exciting dog to train, regularly shot over, worked on all types of feather including geese and experienced in stalking, but equally happy to retrieve dummies. A showman when he was in the ring, that rises to the occasion simply an excellent dual purpose dog. He lives in a family home with his son from his third litter, his family which includes small children; his Dad works him most days in some capacity as they live a rural life. I had the pleasure of being in the same Team as Ben and Doc at the International HPR Competition and to train with and watch them, the genuine respect they have for each other and the clear working bond, was just wonderful; I think I fell in love with Doc then and knew he would be right for Flow.
FLOW: Where to start with Flow!! For those of you who have met Flow, you will know you could not possibly meet a happier, funnier, sweeter, gentler, biddable and more loving, nutty girl. She is so great with everyone, children, adults and other dogs alike; she is so eager to please me and we have trained that our bond is tight and on top of this she is so strikingly beautiful to boot. Not dissimilar to Doc, her temperament is the best and her nature is just superb, she wants to be on you not beside you and she wants everyone to be as happy as her. A very cheeky and adorable character she is lovely to live with and she happily does all that is asked of her. I have trained her hard for competition and for working and she is a joy to be teamed with. Like all GSPs who are highly intelligent she has questioned me and challenged me (we’ve been learning together) but she is so reliable and responsive in the field and Field Trialling her this season has been a joy. She is great on our local shoots but will also pick up dummies and do working tests all day, with considerable success, her exuberance and eagerness never wain. Her Field work is clean and quiet and determined and to see her on the Grouse moors or on a rough shoot sends shivers up my spine so fabulous is she to watch, her hunting style is so typical - hard running but never loosing site of the fact we are a team which I just love. Flow has done well in the Show Ring gaining her stud book number and many First and Second placings, CCs alluding her but really like all true HPRs, her real passion is to be out in the field, working. Flow's true, one and only desire though, is just to please and for everyone to be as happy as her.
I am so super excited for this mating as I think the union of these two will truly make something very special; in terms of colour, difficult to say, liver and white will be dominant but experience tells me you just can’t tell. I hope for a good mix of both liver and white and black and white. What I can say is that this litter will have the most wonderful temperaments, a litter showing great promise for the Show Ring and will excel out in the field but also very suitable for the home, making happy, loyal, biddable, loving family pets, as contented with youngsters and other family members as on their own.
THE PROCESS: We were a Kennel Club Assured Breeder (until sadly the scheme was dropped at the end of 2024 but my standards have not) and we like to make acquiring and owning one of our pups a truly wonderful experience right from the start. You are taken on a true journey from Day one; we provide daily Pupdates (WhatsApp Video plus a weights chart) detailing the puppies progress so you can feel involved in their early weeks, visits are allowed from 4 weeks of age and the Selection/Allocation takes place at 6 weeks of age, following which a non-refundable deposit of 20% is paid to secure your pup with pups going to their new homes at 8 weeks one day old, which in this case would be somewhere around early July 2026..
The pups are born into and brought up in a busy home spending their first 4 weeks in a spare bedroom, in total peace and quiet with Mum, before being brought downstairs into the heart of the busy home for the second 4 week period, to start their socialisation. As much socialisation is conducted as is possible as this is key to the onward development of the pups, they are exposed to everyday noises, get used to being outdoors, feeling different textures under their paws and so much more, as well as mixing with the other 8 family dogs (GSPs, a Lab and JRTs). Two health checks are carried out by our own Vets (ARMAC of Biggar) and the pups undergo a course of worming at 2, 4, 6 and at 8 weeks of age just before leaving for their new homes. The pups will have dew claws removed but are undocked, are Microchipped, and leave with a very comprehensive Puppy Pack including KC Registration, 5 Weeks free Insurance with the option to continue, a Health check Certificate from our Vet, enough Food for up to a week to ten days plus manufacturer's information guide, a blanket that has been in the pups’ bed for 4 weeks (helps with the first few days of settling in), some of their old toys and new toys plus a comprehensive Information Pack providing everything you need to know about Socialisation, Feeding, Exercise, Health and Welfare, Grooming etc. The pups are Endorsed (not for Export and not for Breeding) plus we demand our new Puppy Owners engage in a contract with us (which can be viewed in advance). Most importantly we provide Life Long Support (as much or as little as desired) to all our pups and families and are always, absolutely always, on hand for you and your dog throughout the dog’s life.
