Obi - a Swahili name which means 'heart'.

Another boy who was never meant to stay, but his super conformation and sweet temperament stole our hearts.

He is out of the second litter from our Finnish import, Freya. For this litter I decided to do something completely different and chose a sire who had an interesting mix of some very old English lines and Australian lines which both complimented and contrasted our own.

Obi has had the most amazing first six months. At his very first show at the age of 6 months and 2 days he was awarded Best Opposite Sex to his litter sister, Uma who took Best Puppy and Best Of Breed.
His second show was Bath Championship Show just two days later where he took Best Puppy in Breed and Reserve Best Dog under judge Nicola Spencer.
He then went on to win Best Puppy in Breed at Southern Counties, Blackpool and East of England Championship Shows.

At the Northern Basenji Society Club Championship Show he was exhibited under breed specialist Anelli Pukkila from Finland. Not only was he Best Puppy in Breed but also Best Puppy in Show and gained his Stud Book Number by being awarded the Reserve Dog CC. What a day to remember!
At Leeds Championship Show he was Best Puppy in Breed and Reserve Best Dog under breed specialist Tom Rabbitte and also went on to be shortlisted in the Puppy Group.
At Midland Counties Championship Show he was Best Puppy Dog and Reserve Best Dog.

To top off 2017 he was declared 'Our Dogs' Top Puppy in Breed.

Obi became a 'daddy' during the winter of 2018, having sired a litter of 5 beautiful quarter African puppies consisting of 1 girl and 4 boys. We are looking forward to seeing his daughter, Sunny, in the show ring.

JD;(2) 1 Memetuka Cream O'The Crop. Well named(!) Best Puppy! He challenged his half brother hard for RCC but his owner/breeder couldn't handle them both in the Challenge. Super coat and colour, correct head, lovely expression, dark eyes. Short back, stacks four square and moves well.

PD;(3) 1 Memetuka Cream O'The Crop. Six and half month old r/w quality puppy who showed very well. Very confident for his age. Compact and well made with very good length of leg. Quality head, nice wrinkling, super shape of eye as well as dark colour giving lovely expression. Good ears. Very nice neck. Would like a better curled tail. Good mover for his tender age. Best Puppy.
