Basenji PRA

The form of PRA that is caused by the Bas_PRA1 mutation is typically first diagnosed when dogs are, on average, five years of age. The initial symptoms consist of retinal thinning marked by vascular attenuation. Similar to most other forms of PRA, retinal degeneration progresses gradually and ultimately results in complete blindness. There is currently no cure for PRA.
