Grouse is a gentle, laid back & affectionate dog. He has a biddable temperament, but with a very cheeky streak. One of his favourite ways of attracting my attention is to come up behind me & nibble me on the bottom!

He is a natural retriever with a soft mouth, and is keen to demonstrate this ability at every available opportunity, often resulting in extremely unusual objects being presented to me!

Grouse has a successful track record in the show ring, including winning 2 Challenge Certificates, Junior Warrant, many Best of Breeds, Group wins, Rabart Superpup Winner 2004, Best Puppy In Show & Reserve Best Puppy In Show. At Gundog Breeds of Scotland Championship Show 2004 judged by breed specialist Gill Roden (Keigame GSPs), he won Best Puppy In Breed & Gill's critique was... "Super head, dark eye, mature & up to size, has elegance & quality, correct forehand, super straight front, lovely bone & feet, depth at elbow, ribs carried well back, short loin, correct topline & tailset, well muscled hindquarters, steady mover with great reach & drive".

Grouse is a top size dog, with a good, coarse coat & correct dentition.
