Red came to us in Nov 2023 as a 8 1/2 year old rescue but anybody would think she is a puppy on seeing her playful energy.

I am amazed how quickly she settled into her new environment, simply accepting the change and getting on with life. She adds so much fun to our lives on a daily basis, alongside quickly becoming a great companion to our Weimaraner Keela - just as we had hoped for.

We have had to re-teach some basics and her recall, whilst much better, is still questionable at times. It is somewhat a shame she was not previously gundog trained because, in just the short time with us, she seems to thoroughly enjoy the reward of retrieving and she is naturally a great hunter.

Red's only hang-up is her being totally gun-shy. It is something we can and do work with and thankfully she is able to 'get-over' the stressful moment super quickly and is able to resume to her playful happy self soon after being moved on from the source. With a little help of a calming spray, a warm fire to lay in front of and Keela to cuddle up to, she even managed to settle through firework night.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to be able to help out with at least one of the multitude of dogs currently in rescue and we hope we can do this more in the future.
