Such a joy to be able to have our third generation of Weimaraner join our home, whilst Mum Breeze, Grandma Cashew and our Vizsla Tango were all around to guide and love her.

Keela was a true reminder of what it is like having a puppy Weimaraner, being full of confidence and energy and, whilst she didn't always seem to listen, Keela was actually a very quick learner and we progressed through our gundog assessments to grade III at a rapid pace.

COVID restrictions meant we didn't get out to many shows in the beginning, so we abandoned trying to get her Junior Warrant but Keela has since brought home a number of 1st and 2nd place rosettes, including a reserve best in breed.

She seems to enjoy doing anything and everything, whether simply out for walks or participating in a variety of training; shoot over days; or a day out with a local shoot syndicate but I think we are both very much in our happiest place when we are roaming the grouse moors, in great company with other HPR owners, and/or when strolling along a sandy beach where we can feel and enjoy the sea breeze.

Keela proved to be a great mum in 2021, when she coped amazingly with 11 puppies for her first litter and we look forward to her having a second litter when the time allows.

Having lost Cashew and Tango to old age, it was a very sad day when Breeze also left our world in 2023 but we used this unexpected opportunity to bring rescue Vizsla 'Red' into our home. We hoped this addition would be good companionship for Keela and, wow, Keela was amazing in allowing Red to share her world so it wasn't long before the two of them were best buddies.

Keela definitely loves a cuddle, she is very much a people's dog and very affectionate. She settles well when we do need to go out and leave her but she can only just about contain her excitement when we get back.

Gundog training with Keela has proven to be challenging at times but our learning to work together has created a truly loving bond.
