Medium size. Light silver grey coat.
Well socialised and absolute super temperament.
Cashew has proven to be a true 'dual-purpose' dog. She has thrived on all working activities including Search & Rescue; enjoyed fun activities like Fly Ball and Agility; has been comfortable alongside us out running or out for bike rides; and content to simply take a stroll in the woods with us then laze at home by the fire.
Our local training club awarded her 'Best all Round Dog' and she is just that, doing well in whatever we ask of her.
Fantastic family pet and companion who we have been able to take everywhere with us, be it staying at friends and family, B&Bs and camping sites. And it's great to know she is comfortable to join us at our local pub, simply happy warming herself by the fire whilst people watching.
She has additionally proven to be an excellent and very calm Mum to her litter of puppies and happily claimed her role of Granma to both of her puppy Breeze's litters. She even took to having little puppy Keela join us, whilst in her ageing years approaching her 15th birthday, in her stride and whilst no longer able to tear around the garden playing, it was awesome to see her interacting and cuddling up with her gran-daughter.
Life became at a much slower pace but still very much engaged and waiting at the door to join us for a walk.
It was with great sadness when, aged 15.5 years old, Cashew let us know that she was ready to go over the Rainbow Bridge but we are forever grateful that just a few days before, she was still her active self and had had the pleasure of seeing Keela bringing 11 great-grand pups into the work, to carry on her legacy.
Her character has made a massive imprint on our hearts, always there to remind us it's meal time, time to go out, time for biscuits, or just checking if any of the toast in the toaster was for her. Cashew was never really been a vocal dog, (other than barking at the postman) but she always had a massive amount of communication through her eyes and these remained bright until the end x
