CRUFTS 2019: Maud, 1st MLB & NuNu 1st PGB

Janak Dronning Maud of Barfordridge, is a beautiful bitch and has been a great mother, particularly to Egbert & NuNu (8 this year), and Zita & Rudi (4 this year). She loves swimming, chasing rabbits, squirrels and catching mice. She is stately & proud - very much the leader of her pack.

Eleanor and Egbert from our first litter 2016, are both elegant and aloof as they should be. Equally they move pretty fast when they spot squirrels in particular. In fact, you have to get out of the way of the 7 of them when they shoot off all together in a line, lead by Rudi.

After a grand search we found Asimba Nelson von Vogelsburg Vulkan, based in Germany. We met him at Crufts 2022 and we did AI in December 2023 producing a fabulous litter of 10 on January 29, 2024.
We were thrilled to have such a lovely litter with a difficult choice for our keepers, however, we have Magda and Igor to add to our ever growing pack. Wonderful examples of this magnificent breed.

Zita & Rudi were born as Covid hit the UK, and they had a sheltered few months. However, we managed to start showing at Championship shows in England & Scotland and they have both done well, in particular Zita has won several Hound Group places.
Zita also followed Maud in getting a good placement at Crufts, gaining 2nd in PGB under Mr T H Johnston. Maud came 1st in VB, and Rudi VHC(5th) in PGD.
Barfordridge Rhodesian Ridgebacks have been members of the soon to end KC Assured Breeder Scheme since 2016. Our dogs are primarily pets & are like lightly shown. We have bred from Zita who we kept from a litter, together with her brother Rudi, in 2020, from a pleasing match of Maud + Gino (Ch Patemeliann Red Tarka of Kitaarka JW).
We have chosen Nelson (Akimba Nelson von Volkelsberg Vulkan) who we met at Crufts '22, he lives in Germany and so we did AI this time. We had a super litter of 10 in January 2024.
Our dogs have a wonderful life here with us, we are always around and they live in the house on a multitude of sofas.
