Richclass Whippets

Welcome to Richclass Whippets

We are a small kennel based just outside of Cardiff (South Wales). We breed for type, and quality and elegance to maintain quality in the breed.. Our dogs are a massive part of our family and are very much loved, where they love the sofa.

We bought our first whippet from the Turnstone kennel in 2008 and started showing whippets in January 2012 with our first home-bred dog 'Richclass Dannys Boys' (Bryn) and this is when the showing bug hit. Bryn got our kennel underway as he achieved a number of first placings at championship level, something which is very difficult to achieve due to the quality of whippets in the UK, as well as the high entry numbers.

We then started to improve our line and bred our first whippet 'Turnstone My Petal' with the most successful whippet in the UK to date 'Ch Shalfleet Simply A Lord'.

We only had a litter of one which was a bitch which we decided to keep and named 'Gwen' (Richclass Hayleys Girl) and we are immensely proud of what our girl has achieved to date in the show ring, with a number of Best Puppy in Breed wins, along with BOB's at open show level, and winning the RCC at Paignton in 2015, which was a dream that we didn't think would be possible at such a short space of time.

During the success of 'Gwen' we decided to have a re-mating. From this litter we kept 'Jet - Richclass Simply Magic'. Jet has achieved some excellent results so for in his showing career, which has resulted in numerous 1st placings at championship level, as well as open show wins.

Gwen had her first litter in November 2017, where we used Ch Cobyco Chance of a Lifetime as the sire. We had a fantastic litter of nine pups, where we kept a male who we called Bruce (Richclass Run For Cover)
