It is hoped that this carefully selected pairing, which is matching two equally well bred dogs, one from working lines and one from show lines, that they will produce intelligent, active puppies, but with calm and more relaxed temperaments than the wholly working lines of my previous litters.
The puppies are expected to be shades of yellow from pale cream to golden.
Valda is a working-type Labrador, bred for intelligence, trainability, and drive. She is active, focused, and eager to please, with the classic athleticism and enthusiasm the working strain is so admired for. I work from home and Valda loves to sit at my elbow and nudge it when she wants attention.
Paddington is a show-type Labrador, known for his excellent conformation, strong bone, and traditional breed type. He has a calm, affectionate temperament and the handsome, classic features associated with the show ring. In 2024 he came second in the Yearlings class at Crufts, along with many other show wins.
This combination offers a wonderful balance of qualities, often producing puppies who benefit from:
• Trainability & Intelligence — inherited from strong working lines
• Steady Temperaments — thanks to the show lineage’s calm, biddable nature
• Versatility — well suited to active family homes, training, or light working roles
• Balanced Structure — blending athletic ability with correct conformation
• Classic Labrador Type — with both functional soundness and traditional looks
Together, we expect this litter to produce well-rounded yellow Labrador puppies with excellent temperaments, sound structure, and adaptable abilities.
These puppies will be born and brought up in a home environment and will be well socialised with people, different environments and other pets. I spend 24 hours a day with the puppies and sleep next to them to ensure their safety. This constant presence allows me to be very hands-on with the puppy training as they approach the end of their time with me.
Puppies will be available from 8 weeks and will be KC registered, Vet checked, fully wormed, micro-chipped and vaccinated. They will leave with comprehensive puppy packs and the assurance that I am available for the whole life of your dog for questions, problems and advice.
I am a very inclusive breeder and I love sharing the puppies development, right from conception through to the day they leave me. I enjoying sharing the process and educating people about everything that is involved
I specialise in families who have never owned a dog before as these families often need the extra support (certainly in the beginning) that I offer and these puppies in particular should be ideally suited for these owners. Although I obviously welcome more experienced owners too.
In addition to being watched by a human (me), the puppies are watched constantly by cameras. These cameras are available to be accessed by puppy families, so that you can watch your puppy grow and develop 24/7.
I am very proud to be a higher standard 5 star licensed breeder. This means that both a vet and an environmental health inspector have visited (sometimes unannounced), to inspect my house, equipment, procedures and anything else they can think of. I hope this gives assurance to those purchasing from me that these puppies get the love and attention they deserve.
Finally, Bestevenn translates to 'Best Friend' in Norwegian. My aim as a breeder has always been to breed your next best friend and companion. I think of all my families as an extension of my own family and like to think of us as a community. We have reunions both big and small. Pictures of these reunions, along with pictures of all the puppies I have bred are available on my page, 'Bestevenn Labradors - 5 Star Licenced Dog Breeder' or my website. Please do request to join if you would like to review some of my previous litters.
I already have a waiting list for this litter, but there are likely to be 4 puppies available. If you would like to know more or would like an application, do message me with your e-mail address and I will send you an application form and information sheet.
