Archie and pepper are lovely examples of the Glen of Imaal breed, embodying all the qualities we cherish (courage, gentleness, devotion, and intelligence).
I selected and purchased Pepper specifically for her outstanding pedigree, which traces back to our original Lishmar lines from the early 1990s.
On Pepper’s Dam’s side, her pedigree includes Ballyfoyle Scoobie, the very first American Glen of Imaal National Champion, who came from the lines of our foundation female Lishmar Rhonda.
Rhonda’s lineage has also produced several successful Irish and UK champions.

Archie was carefully chosen to complement her pedigree, aiming to produce a litter that upholds and enhances both of their bloodlines. His ancestors also include our bloodlines but includes some of the famous historical and traditional lines to include Granitfields, Knocroe, Threetrout and Ballyfoyle to name but a few.
The coefficient of this mating is a low as 8.62% going back 5 generations. Known ancestors within the proposed pedigree going back 13 generations equals 98%.

Our family’s bond with the Glen of Imaal breed goes back to 1887, where my grandmother, Bridget Flynn, was born and raised in Donard, Co. Wicklow which is in the heart of the Glen of Imaal.
Her family like other residents in the area kept Glens as pets and working dogs, and my ancestors love for the breed has been passed down through the generations to us.
