We are thrilled to announce that Kira recently had 5 boys and 5 girls, all thriving and all born naturally.
All puppies treated for worms through mums pregnancy/post two days after birth and will be wormed accordingly while they are with us.
Mum is raw and cold pressed fed and puppies will be weaned onto the same (Wilsons) - and will leave with a bag of cold pressed they've been weaned onto. For those interested in keeping up with raw feeding, we are happy to advise. For those not keen on the idea, the cold pressed food they will go home with is almost scored as highly as raw on "All About Dog Food" and if you'd like to transition to "normal" kibble we are also happy to advise.
Puppies are born and raised in the family home amongst children and cats. Owned by a fully qualified dog trainer and behaviourist, publisher of two animal care books, previous doggy daycare and rehabilitation centre owner, having ran numerous training classes and still offering behavioural consultations to this day, these puppies want for nothing, physically or mentally.
All come accustomed to loud and unexpected bangs such as fireworks, gunshots etc (played loud through a Bluetooth speaker at unpredictable hours for real world exposure).
The whelping box is just 4 or so metres away from the washing machine (that's on constantly when puppies are here of course!) and the hoover and steam mop are used at least once daily in their vicinity. Literally all day to day noises are used nearby such as hair driers, shaking bin bags open, dropping pans on the floor, etc - all sorts of things as I firmly believe the more they experience as soon as their sight and hearing kicks in, the better. Kira isn't phased at all by any lf the above so they learn not to be phased by any of it also; making for well rounded puppies.
Weather permitting, we strive to send all puppies home as "house trained" as possible. Our previous summer litter were pretty much toilet trained upon leaving at 8+ weeks. Literally everyone expressed how easy it was house training their new puppies - they pretty much just "got it".
Mum has no known allergies or food intolerance which I firmly believe goes a long way to healthy puppies - no one wants to sign up to a lifetime of food intolerance; puppies raised on a mixed variety are proven to be less susceptible to future intolerance - rest assured, Kira is fed a vast range of proteins/other nutritional sources throughout pregnancy, whelping and weaning.
Puppies will be vet checked between 6-7 weeks. Vaccinations can be done upon request. Otherwise puppies able to leave ~ Father's Day / June 16th 2024 *but not before*.
All puppies will of course be KC registered and microchipped. 4 weeks free insurance will be part of the puppy pack too as will extensive paperwork detailing their KC pedigree, microchip info, a 2kg box of cold pressed Wilsons food, an information booklet and additional guide written by ourselves, a blanket and toy and that will smell of mum/and their siblings and you will leave with a lifetime of support - everyone from our previous litter keeps in touch and this is how we like it - some message regularly (every few weeks to a month or so), others message every few months and/or if they have any questions or would like any advice - we welcome any messages, any time, about anything 😀
We have a very active social media presence which means pretty much daily updates posted about the puppies progress/what they have been introduced to/the ups and the downs (as breeding dogs isn't always for the feint hearted) - a true life account from start to finish as we believe in transparency.
We firmly believe in quality over quantity. Having said that, we also strive to get more future Scokira dogs into the show ring as our "keeper" from the last litter is going from strength to strength, as are 3 others from our previous litter. We had never stepped foot in the show ring until then so we are more than happy to guide and advise if this is something that may interest you. But absolutely zero pressure- our primary concern is happy and healthy puppies, adhering to breed standard, finding forever and loving homes.
As responsible breeders, if anyone ever needs to rehome one of our previous puppies we will take them back in, no questions asked.
