One (light) yellow dog has become unexpectedly available from this exceptionally well bred litter, through no fault of his own due to change of circumstance. Looking for 5 star working/ competing forever home, with gun dog experience. Please contact me to apply and provide as much detail as possible on initial enquiry. My pride and joy ‘Ember’ whelped her second and final litter born 30th April 2021. Ember is a beautiful, kind and gentle lady and an exceptional mum. Ember is homebred and she was my first very own gundog, she spent the first couple of years of her life with me working as a game keepers’ dog on a large commercial shoot, where we learnt and trained together, and she gave me my love and passion for working gundogs. She is a reliable and honest bitch, and a pleasure to work and own. Ember comes to life when working and picking up game; but is equally well accustomed to home life and loves to relax! I also own Embers 3-year-old daughter Phoenix.

The sire of this litter is FTCH Kestrelway Drake, an outstanding black dog who carries yellow. ‘Drake’ became a Field Trial Champion after winning the Midland Counties Field Trial Society’s two-day stake in September 2017. This qualified him for the IGL Retriever Championship for the second year in a row. Drake followed it up by winning the Cornwall Field Trial Society’s one-day stake a few weeks later. He also came second at the Coventry Field Trial Society’s two-day qualifying stake. At the Kennel Club’s Gundog Working Tests at Chatsworth on 17 June 2018, Drake came second in the two-day Open Working Test. Drake represented England at the Anglesey International in 2018 and 2019, both times being England’s top scoring dog.

Both parents are health tested with excellent hip scores, 0-0 elbows and have current clear eye certificates. Sire is also DNA tested and clear for EIC, PRA, CMN and thyroid.

These puppies have been raised in my house around other dogs and children. The puppies have been weaned onto a raw diet from 3 weeks old and wormed routinely with Drontal. This puppy is microchipped, vet checked and KC registered, has had first and second vaccination and will come with a comprehensive puppy pack including a folder with all relevant paperwork and copies of parents health tests, and a supply of the food he has been been weaned onto. The puppies have been raised with considerable care, commitment and diligence. This chap is well accustomed to travelling and crate training, and is established in toilet training with excellent foundations for basic manners (sit, stay, recall, leave).

This little man WILL NOT be sold on a first come first serve basis, and will only be sold to the right home with the right experience and intention for him. Offspring from this carefully planned mating will be best suited to homes who intend to work /gundog train or compete them. Please note, preference will be given to genuine 5* working/ shooting / competing homes as this litter has been bred for purpose and these puppies will thrive in homes that intend to utilise their working ability to some extent.
