We prefer owners to join the Chesapeake Bay Retriever club and would urge anyone looking to buy a Chesapeake pup to join the CBR club - please contact us for details. We encourage new owners to participate in club events wherever possible and we ask that buyers of our puppies attend at least one Chesapeake Bay Retriever club show or event, preferably in the first year of ownership. This helps you socialise your pup and allows us to see how the pups are developing.
We encourage all of our owners to do at least basic training with their puppies and advise that puppies are best placed in homes that will nurture their active minds and working instinct.
We are able to offer after sales advice and encouragement if you wish to show or work your dog and will always take a dog back if you can no longer keep it (for whatever reason).
Restrictions on breeding will be lifted from the pedigree once current health checks are done - currently BVA hip score, BVA eye test and OFA DM test.
