Oakmarsh Chesapeakes was established in 2006 with the purchase of our foundation bitch Devonshot Jamaica Beach of Oakmarsh (Marli).

We strive to continue breeding for superb temperament along with excellent health, working ability and good looks.

Oakmarsh Chestnut (Fennel) got her first CC, Best Bitch and Best of Breed at East of England Champ Show July 2017 at only 16 mths of age, under esteemed judge Zena Thorn-Andrews! This gains her Stud Book Number and qualifies her for Crufts for life!
She was Best Adult in Match at only 13 mths of age and Reserve Best Puppy in Show at the United Retriever Club Show 2016! She was 1st in Junior Bitch at Crufts 2017. She was Puppy Group 4 place at the South of England Gundog Club show, and at the East Anglian Gundog Club show, she also had many Best Puppy in Breed awards. It is very rare for a Chesapeake to get a Group place so we are very proud of her!
Fennel got her second CC at Blackpool Champ Show 2018 under judge Jane Eyeington. She was 1st in Open Bitch at Crufts 2019.
Fennel is from our 3rd generation of bitches at Oakmarsh Chesapeakes.

Fennels mother Oakmarsh Acorn (Tia) won her first CC (Challenge Certificate) at the URC (United Retriever Club) Championship Show, August 2013, under judge Patsy Hollings (Gunalt). This gives her a KC Stud Book Number and qualifies her for CRUFTS for life! She also has 3 Reserve CCs from Driffield Champ Show 2015, National Gundog 2016 and Richmond 2016.
Tias second CC was at the East of England Championship Show in 2018.

Our foundation bitch, Tias mother, Fennels grandmother, Devonshot Jamaica Beach of Oakmarsh (Marli), was awarded a KC Stud Book Number at Driffield 2013 which qualifies her for Crufts for life! She also has 1 Reserve CC from WKC 2016 which she won as a Veteran. Marli was Best Veteran in Breed 2015 & 2016 and is still looking great at 10 years of age! She retired from the working field in spring 2017 and from the show ring after Crufts 2017 for a well earned retirement, she sadly passed away at home a week befor her 13th Birthday.

Our imported bitch Zara Angels of Baranya at Oakmarsh (Zara) has a Reserve CC from URC Champ Show 2016, giving her a KC Stud Book Number and qualifying her for Crufts for life! Her second RCC was gained at East Of England Champ Show 2018. She had a cracking litter, sired by our Rana, Oakmarsh Assateague, in November 2016. 3 pups attained their KC good citizen awards by 8 mths of age and one of her pups Oakmarsh Dancing Diva is out and about doing gundog demonstrations and in the show ring she was Best Puppy in Breed at East of England Champ Show 2017 and Best Bitch at Crufts 2019.

'Marli' has been a consistant winner in the show ring, winning the 'Fudge Cup' for the best CBR show puppy of 2007. She has qualified for CRUFTS every year since 2008.
In 2010 she produced a stunning litter by the CRUFTS 2010 BOB winner, Sh Ch Devonshot Indian Goes Brave (Teague) who has a superb temperament. She had a single pup for her second litter in 2013, Oakmarsh Beach Party.

We kept a bitch pup from her first litter - Oakmarsh Acorn (Tia Maria). As well as winning many Best Puppy in Breed at Championship and Open shows, she won Best puppy in show at the CBRC Championship show and the Best puppy in show at the CBRC Limit show in 2011, becoming the 'Our Dogs' and 'Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club' Top Chesapeake Show Puppy in 2011. She now has 1 CC and 3 RCCS and has had 2 litters of her own, in 2016 and 2017.

Three of Marli and Teagues puppies (born Sept 2010), Oakmarsh Acorn, O.Appeal AND O.Assateague, have qualified for CRUFTS 2102 /13 / 14. Tia and Rana both have KC Stud Book Numbers and are now Crufts qualified for life.
