Root truly was my heart dog, I could not envisage life without him, he has been with me through so many highs and lows, making him very special and dear to me.

He didn't really enjoy showing but did obtain his stood book number from a limit class win.

He excelled in the field and even though his training wasn't easy to fulfil we did it together!

He racked up over 200 days work over 4 seasons when he retired suddenly and early due to injury.

He was a reliable shooting companion, happy to sit quietly on peg picking up and ever alert. But as easily could join the beaters line and work grouse day in day out. He came into his own though when being shot over proving time and again he was a competent HPR, fulfilling all three disciplines. He was also a water baby to boot.
