Oakmarsh Acorn (Tia Maria) was our pick bitch from Devonshot Jamaica Beach of Oakmarsh (Marli)'s first litter, sired by ShCh Devonshot Indian Goes Brave, CRUFTS BOB 2010.
Sucessfully shown in 2011 winning Best Puppy in Breed at many Champ and open shows, culminating in becoming the 'Our Dogs' and 'Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club' Best Puppy in Breed 2011.
Qualified for Crufts every year since 2012, She won her first CC at URC 2013 under judge Patsy Hollings. She has 6 RCCS, the 6th was gained at Darlington 2023 at the age of 13 years.
Under the New (July 2023) KC Rules, Tia would be a Full Champion (work & show).
She was Best Veteran in Show & Best Working in Show at her final show, the United Retriever Club Open Show 2024, at 13 1/2yrs old.
She had her first litter in 2016, to Penrose Jack Tar, from which we kept a bitch puppy, Oakmarsh Chestnut.
Skilled at cani-X and scootering, Tia is a superb lead dog.
She gained her COM in beginners obedience. She has passed her Bronze, Silver & Gold Good Citizen award.
She passed Level 1 and 2 tests with The Gundog Club and is confident in retrieving both dummies and feathered game, she has been beating and picking up since 2013, doing 12 days on her final season 2023/24, she retrieved her first goose in 2015, and her last in January 2024, a month before she passed away from kidney failure.
