Layla and her siblings were like proverbial “peas in pods” and contrary to previous litters, when my choice of keeper has been made in the first few weeks, I simply couldn’t decide who should stay. They were all beautifully plump, well boned, with excellent pigment and conformation. They were happy, confident, bombproof bundles of lusciousness and quite honestly any of the girls could have stayed. But “Miss Green” is was and I haven’t been disappointed.
Once again Fin has left his magical mark and she is the image of her sire, down to an inky black smudge on her tongue! She too took to water like all her predecessors, possessing more than a smattering of mermaid DNA. I put this down to the fact that all my puppies are introduced to the beach or water ways at nine or ten weeks old. They happily follow the adults unaware that the ground is about to disappear and simply continue paddling and their first lesson is “fait accompli”
One major difference with the latest Calacarey Cadet is that I have not picked up my camera for a very long time, due to a number of extenuating circumstances, and as such her picture gallery is sparse! However, she is maturing beautifully, fabulous top line and tail set, a glorious deep burnished gold with chocolate brown eyes and a mischievous bounce in her sassy, saucy demeanour. A serious photoshoot is to be organised and her gallery will grow!
