Roche is 50% US field trial lines and 50% French/Belgium field lines. She has exceptionally strong working ability for a Weim.
There are no UK Weimaraners in her pedigree, so she represents new genetic material for the UK.
Roche's dad is West, a Southpaw Weim from US field trial lines. Behind him is a rich pedigree of US field trial champions. West was imported into Belgium by Roche's breeder and then made up as a French Autumn Field Trial Champion.
Roche's mum is Excelle. Behind Excelle are some of the best French/Belgium working Weims.
Roche has a very low COI of 0.08%, as a result of this outcross. This is hugely below the breed average which is 7.3%. (This means she is not at all inbred, compared to the majority of pedigree dogs, and puts her at much reduced risk of various diseases.)
We imported Roche from Belgium to the UK as a puppy, having sought out what was (on paper) a Weim with exceptional ability in the field as our foundation female. She has exceeded our hopes in terms of potential.
As expected, Roche is a very hard-hunting Weim. She received a Very Good grading in her first spring pointing test as a Junior. She holds the KC Working Gundog Certificate (for Pointing Breeds). She picks up on shoots during the season. We have just started to trial her and she ran in a couple of trials, last season. Once puppy-rearing duties are out the way, she will be able to focus on trialling without interruptions.
**If you look up Roche on Weimaraner Pedigree database, her name is spelt with 'U2' as the first word. The UK KC don't allow numbers in names, so changed this to UTWO. Which sounds like UT-WO, but there we go......**
