Breeder of:

  • Basset Hound

My passion for dogs and animals began when I was just 12 years old. Over the years, I have owned and loved many different breeds, but it was 15 years ago that the Basset Hound truly captured my heart. My first Basset, Martha, became the foundation of my journey with this remarkable breed, followed by my first show bitch, Maggie, from the DereHeath Kennel.

Since then, I have been actively involved in the show world for over 13 years, competing at championship level not only here in the UK but also in Holland and Italy with my team. Alongside showing, I play an active role in breed and canine clubs:
• Committee member & Show Manager for the Midland Basset Hound Club, where I help run three annual shows (one Championship and two Open).
• Committee member of Eastbourne & District Canine Society, where we run weekly ringcraft sessions, health and wellbeing seminars, and training opportunities for owners.
• Show Manager for our premier open show, held each year at Ardingly.

In 2025, I proudly judged my first breed club show for the South of England Basset Hound Club, as part of my ongoing journey through the Kennel Club Judges Education Programme.

We are a small, hobby show kennel with one clear priority: health, soundness, and function. Our aim is to ensure that this fabulous breed has a positive, healthy future—true to type, but also able to live active, happy lives.

Although I have only been in the breed for 15 years, I am continually learning from respected peers from The Uk and across Europe. Every day with Bassets teaches me something new, and I believe that ongoing education is key to improving and protecting our breed.

Life with Our Hounds

All of our Bassets are:
• Health tested in line with breed recommendations.
• Daily exercised in environments they love—out in the fields, following their noses and scenting as nature intended.

We currently have one proven stud dog:

Olaf – A handsome tri-coloured male with excellent temperament, structure, and health.
• 1 Kennel Club Challenge Certificate (CC)
• 3 Reserve CCs
• Best in Show (Open)
• Reserve Best in Show (Open)
Olaf is available at stud only to health-tested, Kennel Club registered bitches.

Puppies

We only occasionally have litters, and when we do, our puppies are available exclusively to loving, permanent homes where they will be cherished as part of the family.
