I've been involved in showing, breeding , judging and working dogs for over 40 years. I enjoyed 10 years as consultant to the BBC regarding showdogs and aspects of canine health and breeding, following a career as a horsewoman. Dogs and horses are kind of similar...both blossom in good hands and the real joy is watching a character you have nurtured , grow into a confident and loving companion , able to do the task he has been chosen for.
I have been lucky enough to have had success in most doggy activities...The hard work is in the healthcscreening and careful selection of dogs, so...the more I practice the luckier I get !
When I breed a litter it is because I wish to add to my Crew, so breeding for me is not a money making activity , it is out of love of the dogs and their offspring. All my pups are brought up inside the house, I feel they are better prepared for the experiences of a new home by benefitting from the noise and everyday events of a normal household...and that includes 3 cats!
