At Inglewidden Flatcoated Retrievers, dogs have never just been a hobby—they’ve always been part of who I am. I grew up with dogs in the home, and that early connection naturally grew into spending a number of years working in rescue. That experience gave me a real appreciation for temperament, adaptability, and the importance of breeding dogs that can truly thrive in everyday family life—not just in ideal situations.
My Flatcoats are very much part of the family, living in the home and sharing day-to-day life. They are bred with care, with the aim of producing kind, confident, and biddable dogs who embody the true Flatcoat temperament—full of joy, character, and enthusiasm.
My current dogs, Esined Bright Idea at Inglewidden AKA Basil and Ronevorg Can You Be Serious at Inglewidden AKA Fergus, are both health tested in line with breed recommendations (Fergus' hip score - 0), and I am proud of what they are developing into.
While my own dogs are not currently worked, they come from strong dual-purpose lines, with close relatives actively working and proving themselves in the field as well as in the show ring. That heritage is something I value highly—it helps ensure that instinct, trainability, and sound construction remain at the heart of the breed.
Every decision at Inglewidden is made with care and intention. My aim is simple: to breed healthy, well-balanced Flatcoats who are as suited to family life as they are capable of fulfilling the working heritage of the breed.
