Titarapikara Firecracker – “Wellie”

Wellie is an athletic, well-balanced Labrador with exceptional natural ability, a calm, thoughtful temperament, and a wonderful presence both in the field and at home. Now heading into her second season, she completed her first full season last year — working across several shoots in both the beating line and picking-up, gaining broad and valuable experience for a young dog.

In the beating line, Wellie showed real drive and enthusiasm. She moved quickly and confidently, often pushing into heavy undergrowth where even some older dogs hesitated. Her pace through thick cover was impressive, showing fearless game-finding instincts. While she does need to learn to moderate her speed and settle more at times, she is still young and keen, with a clear understanding of her job and great willingness to learn.

Picking-up, Wellie comes into her own: biddable, steady, and incredibly honest. Despite her age, she was mature from day one, showing real patience and composure at the peg and during drives. She has a soft, clean mouth, takes direction with ease, and works quietly but efficiently through varying ground and cover. She thrives as part of a team and is equally confident working independently when needed.

Physically, Wellie is compact, athletic, and beautifully put together. She’s light on her feet, with clean lines and great movement — built for stamina and agility. Mentally, she’s switched on but soft, taking everything in without becoming overexcited or anxious.

At home, she’s kind, affectionate, and easy to have around. Raised in a busy household, she’s well-mannered, relaxed, and very much part of daily life. Her ability to switch off when not working is one of her greatest assets.

Wellie is bred from some of the UK’s most respected Field Trial lines, including FTCh Mediterranean Blue, FTCh Willowyck Ruff, FTCh Waterford Featherman, and FTCh Astraglen Hail. She carries those genetics not just on paper, but in attitude, structure, and ability.

She’s everything we hoped for and more — a young dog with real promise and a genuine joy to work and live with.
