FTW Portdaigh Dair of Countryways

A seriously well-known dog in the trialling world for his ability to hit cover and find his game, Field Trial Winner Scrumpy was Andreas first springer spaniel to trial. Gaining numerous field trial awards and eventually a win! He has gone on to have lots of quality runs and awards in open stakes – many of the top A panel judges have liked and offered to buy Scrumpy though Andrea would never sell!

Scrumpy follows several of his mother’s traits; easy to train and staying close with great drive. Honey, Scrumpys mum, goes back to my original FTCH Glancarrow Reece (Milo’s father) and follows on with the same easy to train temperament.

We have found that Scrumpy has been a fantastic stud dog complimenting many of todays lines. He is a handsome dog, large in stature, long in body with a lovely eye.

FTCH Jocksburn Jock

Field Trial Champion Tommy is a new addition to our kennels – both standing at stud and accompanying me on shoots. I have been looking for a long time to find a champion that would compliment our breed project. As you may know, FTW Oakleaf Bozo (Joe) – our top stud dog, is now 11 years old and we need something to compliment all the bitches we have by him.

I have known Tommy since he was very young, as owned by a very well-known, respected trainer in Scotland and we’ve fortunately had the opportunity to purchase Tommy this year as he is concentrating on his younger potential dogs.

We think Tommy will compliment all our breed lines and also your breed line as he is very, very well bred. Tommy has already sired numerous litters, which I believe to be large litters.

We have used him on several bitches ourselves, he is a very easy dog to mate bitches with – kind and calm, ideal for first time maiden bitches. If you would like to come and see Tommy, bring your bitch to see if she matches up to Tommy or any other stud in our kennels.

Countryways Oakes

A rare coloured cocker, Oakes, being chocolate and tan is one of the prettiest dogs you could ever see – loved by everyone who sees him and a complete bundle of joy.

A great asset to Andreas picking up team, Oakes is steady, quiet, sensible and no hassle, and been sitting with us shooting since he was a young boy. We have had several quality litters by him.

Sire is FTW Countryways Knight (Beetle) and mother Gortnacor Tara (Tara) from great championship and working lines. We have three generations of this dog in our kennels and all available to see.

FTAW Lisgarvagh Eyre of Countryways (Charlie)

Charlie is the last black and white dog that we have, brother to Jazz (mother to Tweed) and I believe that’s around by Raven Inquest. His mother is, Paul Carragers International Field Trials Champion and double Irish Championship Winner, Clonduff Delilah. We have trialled Charlie, he has over 50 awards in field trials and spent most of his time sat with me shooting.

He’s now retired from trialling and spends his time shooting with a friend, making a great asset to his team. Still standing at stud, we have used him lately on several of our bitches hoping to get back that old line.

We complete a stud dog contract with you and require cash or bank transfer payment upon first tie. Pick of litter considered for suitable bitches and to be discussed during your visit with us.

We spend the autumn/winter months shooting with our dogs and competing all over the country in field trails.

I have several home bred Champions, making my Springer Spaniel (Gwen) up from Novice to FT CH and a Diploma Of Merit at The Championships in one season.

Clearmeadow Flash of Countryways (Milo) and Black Labrador (Joe) have sired Champions, and we are so proud of the consistent quality of their progeny. They do well with an amazing variety of handlers, from extremely novice to professionals.
